Humane Society of Preble County Our animal shelter has a 40+ year history in Eaton! Hours: 11 am to 5:00 pm - Monday through Thursday
11 am to 4 pm - Friday and Saturday.

We are closed on Sundays and all major Holidays.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Delilah is a 3 year old female Boxer mix that needs a new home with plenty of love to go around. She came to us weighing 34.6 lbs. and was so flea infested they were sucking the life right out of her. Today she weighs 61.2 lbs. After having been starved to almost half of her body weight, she is a happy dog and loves to play with other dogs. She loves kids and adults and does not seem to care about the cats as she has been out and about with ours here. She never potties in her kennel, even when holding it for 12 hours overnight. She loves attention and will stand with you as long as you keep letting her know she is the best girl in the whole world. Let's make sure Delilah gets the home she needs, wants and deserves.

IN NEED OF A HOME: Honey is a 3 year old female Great Pyrenees / Lab mix that has come back to us to find a home without cats. Her new family tried to make it work for almost two months but neither the cats nor Honey wanted to coexist. Honey loves her outdoor time, which would be the Pyrenees in her, so she will need a taller fence to keep her contained. She has been good with all people but due to her size we would recommend that kids be 10 or older so they don't get knocked down. Honey weighs 85 lbs.

UPDATE 11/18/25 @ 11:15 A.M.: Jamillah has a PENDING ADOPTION!

**ADOPTION PENDING**: Jamillah is an 8 month old female Boxer who is all wiggles and wags! She is the sweetest little thing with of course the adorable Boxer under bite and the whole wiggly little back end! Jamillah is a petite girl and currently weigh 37 lbs. She is walking well on a leash but would really like to find a family where she can really shine.

FOOD DRIVE UPDATE:
So over the last 10 days we received ~75 bags of dog food in response to our original post - THANK YOU to those that responded so quickly!

However, this supply will only get us through about 2 1/2 months which means we'd run out again right in the middle of winter! 😱So we are extending our food drive in the hopes we can get 𝑎𝑡 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑡 another 100 bags which would get us by until the spring time.

Our dogs don't know that the government is in the longest shut down in history or that people are now struggling to put food on their own tables worse than ever. They just know their world right now revolves around our staff and their regularly scheduled meal times and potty breaks. So please, if you can donate just one bag - big or small - and then encourage a friend or a family member to do the same, that 100 bag goal will quickly be achieved quickly!

UP FOR ADOPTION: Would you just look at this adorable face! Brutus is a 5 year old male Pug mix that has been in and out of a few homes and needs a real forever home. He would prefer to be the only pet so he can focus on loving his very own person. Brutus has a lot of energy and loves to play with balls and squeaky toys, but also has an off switch when he will be happy to lay at your feet and relax. Brutus weighs 18.6 lbs and would do best with a fenced yard.
