Our hearts go out to the family and staff

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. John Ulrich. His love and compassion for each client and pet were shown often over the past 20+ years.

He loved the community and being your vet more than anything. With all of this, we as a business will keep moving forward. His legacy will be continued here at Twin Valley Vet by Dr. Schaar.

We ask you to please be patient with her and our staff at this time. Thank you all for the love and support during this sudden tragedy.

Our office will be closed for appointments until Monday, December 1st. Staff will be available on Monday and Tuesday (11/24 and 11/25) from 10 am to 4 pm to facilitate prescription pickup and answer any calls.

Details about the service to come.

Our sweet Elsa Jean the love machine has crossed the rainbow bridge today ❀️

She has been battling small cell lymphoma for 6 years and was starting to show sign of being tired. We have no idea how we will get our lunch now since she always caught and provided toilet paper, Winnie the Pooh bear, whales and many other things. She was our protector if something was giving us a hard time while in the treatment room she was always there to step in if needed.

She will be greatly missed

Meet Miss Purdy!

She came to us for a possible euthanasia. She came in and was pretty much flat out, people who found her thought she might of been hit by a car. During her exam she got up and started purring ❀️ 🐈

So we gave her some fluids under her skin, cleaned her up and got her warm and the next Day she was a totally different kitten! Playing purring interacting.

She does have an injury to her front right leg that is going to result in ampution that will be done on Wednesday along with her possibly being spayed.

So we are reaching out because she will need a home that must be indoor only. She also needs a little patience she is very loving but when she gets in a big area she gets a little nervous and hides.

With her having special needs we unfortunately can't just give her to anyone, so we are going to be extremely picky on her new home. If interested please reach out to us.

Thanks!

Felines are what called induced ovulators, meaning that they release eggs in response to mating, rather than spontaneously. Which is why cats can have several litters a year and start at as young as 6 months of age.

BIRD FLU: Keep cats safe! Cats are very susceptible to H5N1, also known as bird or avian flu, but at this time the overall risk for exposure and infection is believed to be low. The virus has ravaged poultry farms, leading to the mass killing of over 150 million birds. Now, it's been detected in dairy cows, catsβ€”even humans.

Signs of H5N1 infection in cats:
β›” Respiratory problems like coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, trouble breathing
β›” Lethargy
β›” Neurological disorders, such as disorientation or trouble walking
β›” Sudden onset of severe disease or death without prior signs of illness or injury
