I often joke that my horses would consider my set up at home- “redneck trailer park level!” With the barn up now, it makes it easier for me to give these guys the care I’ve always wanted. I firmly believe that the best environment for a horse is outside whenever possible. I don’t bring them in when it rains or snows, they don’t stay in a stall at night- they’re outside unless something is effecting them physically. They have a very large run in and barely use it. I believe in letting them just be horses, as long as they aren’t getting injured.

The one thing I can’t stand however, is listening to them stomp and watching them constantly swishing their tails because the bugs are so bad. I can’t stand bugs on me for even a few seconds and I have the ability to remove them from my body, horses do not. And a horse is so sensitive, they feel every single one. I also see a lot of leg injuries or leg soreness/swelling when I do Magna Wave this time of year and I often attribute it to trying to stomp off the flies. It’s not something most people consider, but if your horse is constantly coming up sore or swollen, this may be something to consider.

To me, this is a necessity to help keep them sound right now…

Anyways, I’m happy they’re home- I’m not sure they’re as thrilled about it though…IYKYK!

Oh and PS- bugs are afraid of Dragonflies…you’re welcome!

🐴🐎Yesterday was record breaking! 🐴🐎

The most horses I’ve ever had in one day and we did them all in 4 hours! We did 19 beautiful horses at Mill Brook Horse Farm LLC Kaylee Coburn! Thanks for always being a loyal customer and helping make this dream happen! And thanks to all the riders that get their horses done and put their horses first- Ensuring they’re feeling good and appreciating all the effort they give us. I love seeing riders be proactive instead of waiting until a horse is injured to contact me! Maintenance is so important and everyone at Mill Brook understands this deeply!

I couldn’t have done it without Shelby Moody, Justin Filskov and Colton Filskov! As Justin said, I brought the A team! I appreciate you all IMMENSELY!

Kaylee allows truck-ins and we have monthly dates scheduled, so please reach out if you need your horse done! I’m also happy to come to you! Tis the season to get them in shape and feeling good!

I FULLY plan to add this to my feeding regime. While a strong immune system won’t prevent them from getting it, it could give them a better chance of survival!

If you haven't already, please educate yourself about what is going on with EHV-1. It is being found in MULTIPLE states (and I was just informed it’s in Canada now) and was known to be at a few of the larger races in the US. It is quite dangerous to your horse and VERY contagious. My horses haven't left my property in over a month, but it never hurts to be over prepared! Let me know if you're interested in doing the same!

I LOVE supporting local small businesses (and friends) whenever possible! When I found out Casey was starting this business, I knew she would be the person to do my hats from now on!! Check out the new swag from Bows & Brims!!

Casey Loomis Jones also made me a custom hat of my logo. My logo is the combination of a Doberman and a horse in the shape of a heart. When I asked Casey if this was possible, she was REALLY excited about it! It came out better than I imagined and I’m so excited to wear it. The hat is so comfortable too, one of the nicest hats I’ve worn. I can be very picky about how a hat fits and I instantly loved the feel and fit.

She has tons of options, I was able to chose the type of hat, the color of the hat and the mesh, the shape of the leather with my logo on it, and for my personalized one, she gave me different options for the Doberman and horse head!!

Check her out! Prices are great and you won’t be disappointed. AND she was super easy to work with! Thanks!!

5 out of 5 stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let’s have fun with this- add your own horse (or any animal) version!

Isn’t this the life of a horse person?

I went to feed the horse(s), forgot the water was one and ended up brushing them until the tank over flowed?
