East Ridge Animal Services East Ridge Animal Services provides Animal Control Services and Shelter Operations/Management for the City of East Ridge. ERAS is a "No Kill" shelter.

The ERAS team is comprised of Supervisor Van Ausdal, ASO Payne, ASO Vaughn, & ASO Kainer. ERAS adopted the "No Kill Equation" as its operational policy in February of 2013. NO healthy, treatable, adoptable animals in its custody are euthanized. ERAS is a full spectrum animal control services unit. The Animal Services Division handles all animal-related issues within the City limits of East Ridge,

TN, including humane law enforcement and cruelty investigations, stray and/ or injured animals, dangerous animals, and limited nuisance wildlife control. ERAS also maintains and operates the City of East Ridge Animal Shelter, which provides safe housing and humane care for stray and unwanted companion animals. Adoptions are available.

Sonny came to us with Cher, and this handsome brindle boy is just an all-around nice dog.

He’s 4½ years old, about 45 pounds, housebroken, polite and dog friendly. Sonny has wonderful manners and would fit beautifully into a home looking for a friendly, easygoing companion.

Cher may be a super senior at 10 years old, but don’t tell her that!

This tall, beautiful girl weighs 60 pounds, is in great health, and is sweet as all get out. She still has plenty of love, smiles, and happy tail wags to share with a family.

Cher has already spent 35 days waiting at the shelter. A girl this special shouldn’t have to wait much longer.

THIS is how we get to see the real dog.

Pappy has been in our care for 135 days—but for the last five, she has had the luxury of knowing what a real home feels like.

And she is absolutely thriving.

She’s great with other dogs.
Great in the car.
Great for a bath.
Great at making herself comfortable on the couch.

Pappy is only 1.4 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. Her foster home has given us the chance to see beyond the shelter kennel—and what we see is a nearly perfect little dog who is ready for a permanent family of her own.

Five days in a home have shown us who Pappy really is. Now she needs someone willing to give her forever.

Maggie’s sister was adopted after 46 days, but Maggie is still waiting at East Ridge Animal Services.

This beautiful Great Pyrenees mix is about 65 pounds of fluff, cuddles and fun. She loves larger dogs, enjoys a good swim and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a big, lovable adventure buddy.

Maggie is fully vetted and ready to leave shelter life behind. Her sister found her family—now it’s Maggie’s turn.

ROSIE — PROFESSIONAL WHOLE-BODY WAGGER

Rosie has apparently never met a stranger. This girl doesn’t just wag her tail—she does the whole-body wag when she sees someone coming her way.

She’s about 3.9 years old and 55 pounds of pure house hippo. Rosie LOVES attention, loves being petted, and is extremely treat motivated. She’s already working on her “sit” and catches on quickly.

On her recent outing, she started off pulling just a little on leash, but before long she was walking right beside her person. She happily spent about 45 minutes walking, sitting together and soaking up affection.

And apparently Rosie isn’t easily rattled. Fire trucks and an ambulance passed with sirens blaring and she barely seemed to notice. Whether that’s incredible focus or something we need to learn more about, Rosie took it completely in stride.

She has also done well with small dogs and other friendly larger dogs.

Fully vetted and ready for adoption!

Maggie has been waiting just over 68 days for her turn.

She came to us with her sister, who has since been adopted and is doing wonderfully. Now we need to find Maggie’s happy ending!

Maggie is about 1 year and 2 months old. She is sweet, fun, friendly, and loves playing with larger dogs. Cats are probably a no for this girl.

Maggie is fully vetted and ready to go home!

This is Kim and Lucy enjoying a walk together, exploring side by side and even stopping for a little cuddle break!

Many of our dogs enjoy the company of other dogs, but every dog is different. We evaluate them individually and always recommend a meet-and-greet with any dogs already living in the home.

Kimmie is a 3.2-year-old retired mother who has spent 89 days with us. She’s a beautiful, medium-sized girl who deserves a loving home and a family of her own.

Dog adoptions are $75 and include vaccines, deworming, microchip, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and preventative.
