Dear fellow horse owners and equine professionals,

My name is Lindsey Bailey, and I am a 3rd Year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Candidate and Master’s student at the Long Island University - Lewyt College of Veterinary Medicine. My master's research focus on equine anhidrosis, a condition where horses are unable to sweat normally. This is a serious health concern, and it can significantly impact horse welfare and performance.
As part of my graduate research, I am inviting you to participate in a survey designed to collect updated information on the prevalence, management, and potential risk factors of anhidrosis in the U.S. horse population. The survey is open to horse owners, trainers, managers, and veterinarians.
Your participation is very important, whether or not your horses have ever shown signs of anhidrosis. Gathering information from both affected and unaffected horses will help us better understand this condition across breeds, regions, and management systems.

The survey should take about 10–15 minutes to complete, and all responses will remain strictly confidential. Please feel free to share this email and link with other horse owners, colleagues, or clients who may be interested in contributing.

As we wrap up another great season here at the Islip Horsemen’s Association, we want to take a moment to recognize the people and businesses who help make our shows and events possible — our sponsors. ✨
