WSH Horse/Rider Highlight:
✨ Angela Hamman & Harvey ✨

Angela has been part of the WSH community for about five years and has brought her passion for skiing, camping, and art to the eventing world. She works for Simplot in corporate HR and teaches lessons at Wasatch, but her heart belongs to horses. Angela’s current partner is Harvey, a Rhineland who has competed up to the meter 50 level. Though Angela isn’t planning to show this year, she is on the lookout for a new horse to help her get back to jumping meter+ and competing in the jumpers.

One of Angela’s most memorable experiences with Harvey was showing at Beginner Novice together. She’s especially grateful for how Harvey responded during a major accident in March, which likely saved her life.

💖 Special Connection: The WSH community has become like family to Angela, and she’s grateful for the connections she’s made!

Currently running Intermediate, the pair has grown together in the sport, learning the ins and outs of eventing as a team. Running Intermediate XC at Aspen—some of the best minutes of her life.

Audrey’s big goal is to refine their show jumping and take a shot at a 3* in the future. She’s incredibly grateful to Stephanie and the WSH community for creating a supportive barn family where riders can grow and push each other to succeed. She also loves sharing this journey with her daughter, Brooklyn, watching her develop into a skilled young horsewoman. And, of course, none of this would be possible without her parents and her amazing husband, whose support means the world.

🌟 Meet Jayne Fife, Trainer at Wasatch Sport Horses! 🌟

Jayne Fife began riding at the age of four, developing a strong foundation in eventing and dressage at Once Upon a Horse under the guidance of Ernie and Jan Herrmann. She grew up immersed in Young Riders, Pony Club, vaulting, and games, building a well-rounded equestrian background from an early age.

At 14, she got her first preliminary horse and fell in love with off-the-track Thoroughbreds. She spent time learning how to restart and develop young horses, sparking a lifelong passion for training.

After high school, Jayne took a detour from the equestrian world and moved to New York to pursue a career in jazz music. She earned three degrees from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in jazz bass, audio engineering, and film scoring, releasing her first album in 2013.

Despite her success in music, Jayne found herself drawn back to horses. After returning to Idaho, she reunited with her former upper-level horse, reigniting her love for riding. However, a freak accident with a stallion on a trail ride left her with a crushed femur, requiring multiple surgeries. During her recovery, her physical therapist—who happened to be a Wasatch Sport Horses client—offered her a horse to help relearn how to walk.

Determined to get back in the saddle, Jayne spent countless hours at the barn. Once she regained her riding ability, Steph offered her a role riding horses, then barn chores, and eventually, a position as her traveling groom. She spent five years grooming professionally, taking every opportunity to learn from some of the world’s top riders.

"Steph molded me into the rider I am today during that time and then set me loose to train and coach clients under her."

Today, Jayne is a dedicated trainer and coach at Wasatch Sport Horses. She works tirelessly to develop both horses and riders, always seeking new learning opportunities, competing whenever possible, and working on young horse projects. Her passion for the sport—and for her clients—drives her every day, and she finds immense fulfillment in helping them grow and succeed.

Join Jayne and the Wasatch Sport Horses team to experience her expertise and dedication firsthand! 🐎✨

Meet Wasatch Sport Horses' Barn Manager, Jennifer Woods.
Jenny Eastbourne-Woods

Jenny made the big move from Minnesota to Idaho in July, fulfilling a dream she’d had for 15 years. Ever since visiting her husband’s sister and brother-in-law, she knew Idaho was where she wanted to be. She told herself she’d make the move once her daughter graduated high school—and this summer, she finally did. She started working at Wasatch at the end of July, 2024, and if you have had the pleasure of meeting her, you know she is an amazing addition to the team.

Horses have been Jenny’s passion since she was five years old, and she’s spent her life working with them in every way imaginable. With over 30 years of experience, she has managed boarding barns, private farms, and training facilities, gaining a deep understanding of the horse industry along the way.

When she’s not working, you’ll find her barrel racing, rodeoing, or camping with her horses—usually with family and friends by her side. And in a fun twist, she recently discovered that her barrel horse has a knack for jumping, so who knows? That might be their next adventure!

Next time you're at the barn, make sure you say hi! We are lucky to have Jenny on the team.
