This bitterly cold weather has brought a “Dane Blizzard” to our rescue over the last 48 hours!

Our Intake team either has or is currently working to help Danes in the following scenarios:
1. A dane living in an un-heated garage. When our awesome volunteer rushed to pick him up, she couldn’t leave his two non-Dane brothers behind (in case you’re wondering about the odd looking Danes in the bottom right corner picture.) 🧐💗
2. An underfed dane who was homeless with his family.
3. A young puppy the family was struggling to feed after falling on hard times.
4. A new mother, who was already neglected, forced to give birth in a shelter which is a scary and unhealthy environment for puppies.
5. A puppy given up only days after purchase because his initial owner decided he was too much for their house.
6. An emaciated Dane left at an open intake shelter with a high euthanasia rate.
7. A Dane that has basically lived in one room his entire life with no socialization. Given up when his owners became ill.
8. A deaf and mostly blind puppy that is sweet as pie, but found himself in a shelter without a lot of options.

These dogs couldn’t wait for the perfect time to be rescued. They needed help now so our volunteers rose to the challenge and stepped up to help make sure they were safe.

While we wish it was just about saving the dogs, we can’t ignore the financial aspect though because such a large intake over a short period of time will cause a huge financial strain on our rescue. Also, there aren’t a lot of adoptions happening right now.

We didn’t need to add these dogs to our rescue, but they needed someone…so here we are and we’re thankful for the ones we’ve been able to save. 💗

Now, rescue family, we need your help! We have set a goal of raising $500 for every one of the dogs pictured. When you think about vetting costs, that’s not a lot of money for each dog, but it will definitely help us make a dent in the bills to come so we can continue helping dogs like this.

We know $7,500.00 sounds like a lofty goal, but saving 15 dogs in 48 hours was also a lofty goal and we’ve done that part! Now we hope you will help us to get the care they deserve. 🙏🏻💕
