After the assassination of a Minnesota state representative, state law enforcement officials urged people not to attend political protests and organizers called off rallies as investigators said the attacker, who remained at large, may have planned to target the demonstrations. Still, scores of people gathered in St. Paul. Several attendees said it was important to protest and show courage, even on a frightening day. https://nyti.ms/3SSeKlC

Minnesota’s Adult recreational use bill requires that a business producing Low-Potency H**p Edibles applying for a license must have an attestation that they have entered into a labor peace agreement (LPA) with a bona-fide labor organization in order to be considered for a license and must maintain an LPA as an ongoing condition of licensure.

UNITE HERE! Local 17 is the Union representing Minnesota’s craft beverage workers. We represent hundreds of workers across Minnesota in food and beverage production and serving, including THC beverage producers and taprooms such as Fair State Brewing Co-op and Indeed Brewing Co.

To comply with Minnesota State law, we have crafted a standard LPA document that satisfies the goals of the statute, including terms limiting labor organizations and members from engaging in picketing, work stoppages, boycotts, and any other economic interference with the entity.

Union siblings, friends & allies - a message from Café Cerés workers. All donations to their relief fund will be distributed to the baristas, cooks, and dishwashers who made the cafes possible. Your support would not only help ease the impact of DDP’s decision, but also send a message to our community at large that we have each other’s backs: https://www.gofundme.com/f/donate-to-relief-fund-for-cafe-ceres-workers

We’re angry Café Cerés chose to close the cafes rather than collaborate with us on how to save them. We’re frustrated the closure comes as we moved closer and closer to finishing our first contract.

We unionized because we know the service industry only works for owners. We’ve spent years working to make these cafes better and we will fight for what we deserve. Because we are a union, we can fight for more together than we’d ever get alone. Café Cerés can close, but it won’t make the restaurant industry’s problems go away. We believe in worker power to continue to fight and make the industry truly take care of its workers.
