Kiamichi Technology Poteau as a licensed practical nurse in 2015 - Carl Albert with my associates of allied health in 2017. I started my career at Rubin White clinic September of 2018, I've recently accepted a new job as the business relationship manager over Poteau and Stigler clinics. I'm thankful for Choctaw nation career development, Cynthia Martin has greatly helped me along my journey.

Meet Dusti Wolfe!
She sent us this message-"Being from Texas, I wasn’t quite sure that I was eligible for assistance with the tribe to go back to school and get my RN license. I was worrying and trying to figure out how to make it all work. After talking and emailing with BJ Albright in the Career Development program, he made me feel so much better about my choice to go back to school! Not only was the assistance spot on financially, the words of encouragement to keep pushing forward via phone calls and emails were so helpful!"

We get it, no one likes to answer a number you don't know, but if you are applying for jobs, assistance, or services of any kind, having your voice mail set up is HIGHLY beneficial! Potential employers will leave you a message if you aren't able to answer. If you have applied for services and there are questions about your application, being able to leave a message is crucial to getting your application processed quickly.
Take a few minutes to set up your voice mail and check it for follow up messages. You don't want to miss out on important things!

Counselor Michele Frazier would like to share a very unique success story!

Boswell native, Kamden Edge, recently graduated from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where he was a very successful baseball player/pitcher with an undefeated season. With plans to transfer to Austin Peay University to continue his college baseball career, Kamden was instead approached by twenty-one MLB teams.

Since Little League, Kamden has worked consistently to improve his game. He’s overcome injury and adversity and kept his focus on the game that he loves. He knew as a child that he wanted to play in the big leagues, and he wanted to be picked by the Royals.

On draft day, Kamden got that call!

Congratulations to Kamden Edge, drafted by the Kansas City Royals, and his proud parents, Keith and Kylee Edge!

Halito! Most of our staff is currently attending the Summer Summit in Tulsa to meet with educators from across the state and give them information about Career Development. Those teachers can then share information with students. Staff can also attend workshops while at the summit. If you are there, stop by and visit with our staff!

Today we are wishing Tisha Giles a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Tisha has been married to her high school sweetheart Michael for 30 years. She shared this with us-"We’ve been blessed with a beautiful family that includes one biological daughter, one biological son, a wonderful son-in-law, and a kind-hearted, soon-to-be daughter-in-law who already feels like part of the family. One of my greatest joys is being “Nana” to my sweet 2-year-old granddaughter. Being part of her life is an incredible privilege and one of my biggest blessings.
I’m an avid dog lover and share my home with four dogs. I’m also a huge baseball and softball fan and proudly support the Texas Rangers—rain or shine, win or lose. In my spare time, I enjoy working with pottery. I find it peaceful and grounding. When you’re working with clay, your mind can’t focus on anything else—it’s the perfect stress reliever."
Tisha and her family recently checked a bucket list item off by taking an Alaskan cruise.
We asked her what she enjoys most about working in Career Development and she responded, "I want my Career Development clients to know that they’re not in this alone. I’ll do everything I can to support them and help them reach their goals to the best of my ability.
What I enjoy most about being part of the Career Development team is the collaboration. We truly work together—everyone is willing to step in to help our clients and support each other whenever needed."

Please check your email for information from your career counselor concerning what is needed. Please ensure that the documents are in PDF form.
