I looooooove baby horses. And I especially love good natured, smart minded baby horses who make the process so easy šŸ˜‰

Fern is one of those babies. Yesterday was her first time with a rider on and her first ride! She handled it so well! I had zero expectations other than wanting to sit on her, but she proved to me she was ready to put the pieces together into more

Fern is a recent 3 year old so still has the baby brain attention span but if you keep things mildly short and to the point, she’s a sponge. Some people know, but it’s hard to tell from the video, but she’s also missing her right eye. She lost it at one month old due to an injury. And she’s never let it slow her down, even in her under saddle journey. Her family sure got a good one!!

Kepris filly is still looking for her new pasture!

Thank you to Mary for the update on her foster mini Aspen May! Aspen just celebrated her first birthday and is ready to find a new home where she will have another miniature horse to play with. Aspen is a very sweet girl but she does tend to have a more cautious temperament so will do best with someone with the experience to help her learn about new things calmly. Aspen just had a body clip to help her along in losing her winter coat. Mary said she stood for it very well! For more information about adopting Aspen, please email [email protected]. Thank you!

This handsome boy is the next coming available horse! Razon has spent the last handful of days settling in while I sent the other boys on their ways. This week we get to work on knowing each other more! He’s already proving to be your classic Arab, from his looks to his personality.

Stay tuned for more updates on this handsome fellow!

What a DAY! This morning saw not one, but two horses go on to start their next chapters

Sully has landed in an amazing spot where he gets to step up to the plate and be his rider’s next learning buddy. This boy has so much to offer and I’m thrilled he gets a chance to continue his career.

And Archie (another no official listing) landed himself the pony jackpot! A devoted 12 year old best friend!! Any horse person knows there’s not quite love like that of a horse crazy little girl. This sweet boy has so much to teach and I can not wait to hear about what lies ahead for this pair.

Kepri had her first dental! This was a much awaited thing, as I’m sure she needed it badly and also we’ve never been able to full estimate her age.

She still very much doesn’t love her face touched but with the assistance of some happy drugs (she actually wasn’t fighting us at all in this, but trying to lay down to sleep 🤣) we managed to get it all done.

I had always estimated her to be in the upper teens/low twenties. Overall the vet said she’s got a good mouth (yay) but definitely had some points. Her cheek teeth are in great shape and put her somewhere in the range of 12-14 years old! Buuuuut her incisors are rough. There’s a lot of evidence that she ate wood in the past. And because she has never ever done that here, we have to assume it was because she wasn’t getting enough food…. Sadly this comes as no surprise given her background. The condition of her incisors put her definitely over 20 years old. So what do we know?

Not much more than what I originally guessed 🤣 and that’s ok. Her age makes difference to her purpose nor her future. She’s here for however long she’s around and her expectations in life are pretty much zero (what a life).

I also had her eyes looked at, as she’s always exhibited some weird tendencies that make me think her vision is funky. The official verdict on that is still out but the vet said they ā€œaren’t normal.ā€ Maybe we will be able to figure out more of what she saw in there but not sure. Again, either way, it doesn’t change anything for her future. Just the more you know.

I’m so proud of this little girl in handling such a scary new step in her new journey. I’ll probably have to buy her love a little extra tomorrow but that’s ok 🤣 totally worth it!

Exciting day for little Kepri!
