Hey friends — it’s Rico the Therapy Dog here! 🐶💙

After many wonderful years of tail wags, belly rubs, and making people smile, I’ve officially hung up my therapy vest and retired. But don’t worry — I’m still all about spreading love, joy, and a few happy barks along the way! 🐾

That’s why I’m inviting YOU to join my friends at Wags For Hope for our Annual Fundraiser —

Join us for the Paws & Wellness Festival

An event focused on promoting pet wellness and community engagement through holistic practices with dogs!

📍 Location: Baker Park, 373 Fleming Ave., Frederick, MD 21701
📅 Date: Saturday, August 9, 2025
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
🎟 Entry: FREE

Meet with local veterinarians, pet businesses, and wellness experts. During the festival, experience physical and meditative yoga sessions, as well as informative talks on holistic pet care and nutrition.

🐾 Wags for Hope will be there!
We’re a local nonprofit organization made up of certified therapy animal teams who volunteer their time bringing comfort, smiles, and support to hospitals, schools, libraries, and community events in the greater Frederick area. Stop by our booth to learn more about our mission, meet some of our amazing therapy dogs, and discover how you can get involved.

Bring your furry friends and family for a morning full of joy, learning, and community spirit. We can’t wait to see you there! 💚

🌟🐾 Holiday Cheer with Rico the Therapy Dog! 🐾🌟

Rico, the beloved therapy dog with Wags For Hope, brought smiles and joy to Thurmont Middle School on Friday, December 13th! 🐶❤️ During lunch, students had the chance to meet Rico and soak up some holiday cheer. His visit was a paws-itively wonderful way to celebrate the season and reward positive behavior! 🎄✨

Rico, the lovable therapy dog from Wags For Hope, had a fantastic time during his visit to Thurmont Middle School on October 17th. From the moment he arrived, Rico was all wagging tail and bright eyes, eager to meet the students, teachers, and staff. He soaked up the attention, offering gentle kisses and cuddles to everyone who approached him. Rico’s calm and friendly presence brought smiles to faces all around, helping to ease stress and brighten the day.

Throughout the visit, Rico enjoyed the pats, belly rubs, and affectionate hugs, clearly loving every moment of his time at the school. Whether he was resting by someone’s side or greeting new friends, Rico made sure everyone felt special, showing just how powerful the bond between therapy animals and people can be.
