Madison Fields provides a rural experience within minutes of the nationโs capital. The site will create engagement with the broader community through internships, partnerships, agricultural learning projects, and collaboration with high school students. Currently, Madison Fields features several existing structures including a state-of-the-art riding stable, bank barn, corn crib, chicken coop, tenant housing, a guest house, a historic farmhouse, and two fully-enclosed out buildings.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Dakota.
Dakota, 30, had been living at Madison Fields for the past 5+ years. He was one of a kind & took a lot of riders for their โfirstโ official therapeutic riding lesson. He was a barn favorite & was very good at getting anyone to give up their best snacks.
Dakota touched many lives at Madison Fields. It is extremely difficult to imagine our barn without him. If you have any stories, or pictures, you would like to share with us, please feel free. We are going to be creating a shadow box in his honor to be added to our volunteer room.
Please send your stories, condolences, and pictures to [email protected].
Sincerely,
The Madison Fields Equestrian Team

Dear Madison Fields Family,
We are writing to you today to inform you that we said goodbye to two of our very prominent herd members last week.
Shay & Stinky were two of our most popular horses. As their trusted humans, our staff had to make the impossible decision to say goodbye to these two amazing animals, so they may rest peacefully without worry and pain.
Shay & Stinky had been living at Madison Fields for the past 5+ years. Although they have not been seen in lessons for the past couple of years, they were some of our hardest working, and most adored herd members for a reason.
Stinky, the 15 time Virginia Western Pleasure State Champion, loved working with young riders and teaching them how to be independent. Once retired from โhard workโ one of his favorite lesson times was during his Hippotherapy classes, when he got to slowly walk around the ring with new riders. He also thoroughly enjoyed his โpaint-the-ponyโ classes. Being a short white pony sure did get him a lot of extra love & bath times.
Shay, the been-there-done-that, pony club eventing queen. Our large black Belgian, Thoroughbred cross. Shay came to Madison Fields from a vaulting barn, and took our riders to the next level. Before she retired from riding and became our โparts of the horseโ horse, she could be found cantering around the ring at full-speed, showing everyone how graceful a big horse really can be, or rolling in the fresh snow (or indoor footing).
Both of these incredible animals touched many, many lives here, and it is extremely difficult to imagine our barn without them.
If you have any stories, or pictures, you would like to share of these special animals, please feel free. We are going to be creating a shadow box in their honor to be added to our volunteer room.ย
Sincerely,
Jessica Oyarzo

They are submitting their project to the Source America competition, a national competition that encourages high schoolers to create functional tools for the workplace, that individuals with disabilities can utilize to help them complete work tasks. Help us wish them luck! ๐

Hi everybody itโs Polly here! Christmas in July has been so exciting! ๐ One thing about me is I sure do love attention and being around people, itโs pretty apparent, just look at this picture. However, Iโm not too fond of all this attention from all these flies and bugs during this hot summer. For Christmas in July, I requested fly spray to be on the list to help keep the flies away! ๐ฆโ

Hey everybody Iโm Jasper! Christmas In July has been great! I've seen us receive so many gifts that have improved the quality of life here at Madison Fields! ๐ Iโve been a therapy horse for quite some time and understand how important some of these gadgets are to the well-being of us animals! Another item that helps horses' wellbeing is a cribbing collar. I put it on the Wishlist and am excited about the possibility to get a new one! ๐

All my chicken friends came back from their adopted homes last week ๐ค I got to help take care of some here, while the others were growing up in homes all over Montgomery & Frederick County, for 6 weeks! Now that they've moved into the chicken coop, we don't get to have breakfast together anymore, but maybe next week I'll take a walk down to the lower farm to share a snack or two โค๏ธ - Pearl the Pig . . Madison House Autism Foundation is thrilled about our ongoing partnership with American Airlines. Together, we can help Adults living with Autism reach new heights. This fall, planes flying into the Washington D.C. area (IAD) will see the American Airlines logo appear below them in the corn fields at Madison Fields. We look forward to our continued partnership with our friends at American Airlines and with all our supporters who help us add value and bring attention to the valuable Adults among us who live with Autism. Safe Labor Day travels!
Madison Fields is a local project of Madison House Autism Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life led by adults with autism across the country. This beautiful 400-acre farm in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve in Maryland serves as a place of healing, inclusion and growth for those members of our community who donโt often receive the support needed in order to fully participate and contribute. We work with community partners, businesses, and the general public to include, learn from, and work alongside individuals with various levels of ability, including adults with autism, physical disabilities, and wounded veterans. We believe our communitiy is stronger when we are all growing together. We currently offer Equine-Assisted Therapy and Activities, Agricultural Education for students from nearby schools, Job Readiness training for adults with developmental and intellectual challenges, and lots of opportunities for volunteers. We also host community events and gatherings in our historic farm buildings.
