Beyond the horse is a person-person coaching practice which uniquely partners with horses to provide the services to clients. We are NOT a riding program, but our technique is highly effective for working with people to provide a variety of healing options around multiple areas in life. We practice a technique called the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®. Services are available for individuals, coup

les, families, groups, and businesses. We are not a therapy program, however we provide services to clients who may or may not be completing a therapeutic program. We can be a great kick-start, stalemate breaker, alternative or addition to a current program for clientele. Every experience is different, but each is full of discovery, connection and empowerment.

Healing doesn't always look like journaling in the sun with a green juice.

It looks like finally feeling the anger you buried at 16.

It's hearing your own voice again after years of putting everyone else's needs before your own.

It's calling yourself out with love - and breaking cycles you were raised in.

It's unlearning the belief that your worth is tied to your output.

It's resting without guilt.

Saying no without explaining.

Letting go without a fight.

It's choosing softness in a world that taught you to harden.

Healing is you living, growing and showing up, all at the same time.

Healing sometimes happens with the help of a horse.

That's real healing.

Badlands Cowgirl Retreat
Spring 2025

It’s challenging for me to put into words the experience that we shared together. Profound is one word that comes to mind. 6 amazing ladies and 9 wonderful horses joined me in my favorite place on earth: the North Dakota Badlands.

Together we faced challenges: from a bit of rain and cold, to wondering “who the heck am I?”. And together we also found the ☀️ and each of us got a little more in touch with our authentic selves.

How the heck did we do that? Thru some experiential coaching and with the help of the horses. Yes, I know full well that’s a limited description of “the how”, but like we will all tell you “if you wanna feel this for yourself, you’ve gotta come for yourself”.

It’s more than just the riding that horses offer each of us as we navigate the trails of life…and my oh my aren’t we blessed to experience that!

She’s been labeled as “too much”.

She’s been called “Salty”.

She’s even been called a “bitch”.

And she, like me, is all of those things….

Plus more.

She’s as consistent as the day is long.

She’s also tough as nails.

And she’s a fierce force to be reckoned with if you try to harm one of her herd. (She literally took on a timberwolf in our pasture.)

We are Both/And in all things.

You cannot be one without also knowing the other.

In order to know grace, you must also know grit.

To have kindness, you must also be capable of meaness.

We are all things, and horses are too.
