October 27th is an ancient Mexican tradition to honor and welcome back the spirits of deceased animals. By setting up an ofrenda/alter with a picture of your passed pet, it allows them to cross the rainbow bridge to visit their families. We place water and treats for them to enjoy after their long journey.

Here at Goldsmith Veterinary Clinic, we love caring for your pets each and every day. We also want to take the time to commemorate those pets who have touched our lives and are no longer with us. Here is our ofrenda with the staff members’ pets who have crossed over in celebration of Dia de los Mu***os.

Okay, friends. We’re looking for our next Client Service Representative!

We lost one of our really great CSRs when life took her somewhere new, so we have a spot to fill—and we’re hoping to find someone who will be a really good fit for our team.

A little bit about us:

We’re a small-animal veterinary clinic that has been part of the South Denver community since 1997. We’re AAHA accredited, we care a LOT about doing good medicine, and we recently finished a pretty major remodel.

Honestly, one of the things we’re proudest of at Goldsmith is our people!

We have a variety of personalities, interests, quirks and general weirdness under one roof 😂 and somehow, it works REALLY well.

We genuinely like each other. We celebrate each other. We make each other laugh. We have monthly spirit days, celebrate birthdays, do team outings, and there’s always a little nonsense happening around here.

We’re also incredibly lucky to have some of the best clients around. They regularly spoil us with treats, goodies and thoughtful little surprises—and our amazing industry reps aren’t exactly shy about bringing us goodies either. We definitely appreciate being spoiled! 😂

We have daily morning huddles where we read the kudos our staff leave for each other. Sometimes they’re sweet. Sometimes they’re silly. Usually they’re both.

So…who are we looking for?

Someone with 2–4 years of experience working with the public who is professional, comfortable talking to people, answering phones, multitasking and figuring out what needs to happen next.

Because veterinary reception can get a little chaotic. 😅

The phone is ringing. Someone is walking through the door. Someone else is leaving with their scared cat. A doctor needs something. A coworker has a question. You were already doing three things.

If that sounds like your kind of fun rather than your personal nightmare, we might be looking for you. 😉

Veterinary experience is preferred, but it is NOT required. We can teach you veterinary medicine (over time). We need you to bring good customer service skills, communication, initiative and the ability to work well with a team.

🐾 Some Other Details:

💙 Full-time
💙 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch
💙 Consistent weekly schedule
💙 Occasional Saturdays (about once a month with a shorter shift)

We also offer health insurance, 401(k) match, accrued PTO with increasing accrual rates, paid holidays, personal pet discounts and an annual uniform allowance.

Labor Day weekend is almost here! We hope you have a safe and restful holiday. Goldsmith Veterinary Clinic will be closed on Saturday, September 5th and Monday, September 7th for the holiday weekend. We look forward to caring for your pets once we're back open as usual on Tuesday, September 8th!

Hi, pet parents! 👋 Goldsmith Veterinary Clinic will be CLOSED today, Saturday July 25th. Due to an unexpected plumbing emergency we have had to make the difficult decision to stay closed today to manage the problem. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and will be ready to help you on Monday. Thanks for your understanding and continued trust in our team!

Dr. Rooney would like to remind everyone that the 4th of July is coming up, and that means fireworks! 🎆Make sure to call in advance if your dog needs anxiety medications for the upcoming holiday weekend.

We will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 4th, but open on the Friday the 3rd and Monday the 6th.

🚨 Pet Owner Scam Alert 🚨

We want to make our community aware of a scam that has recently affected local pet owners.

In multiple recent cases, pet owners who posted online about a lost or missing pet were contacted by someone claiming to have found the animal. The caller then stated that the pet had been seriously injured and required immediate medical care, demanding money be sent or transferred before treatment could proceed.

These calls are scams.

We understand how frightening it can be to have a missing pet, and scammers often take advantage of that fear and urgency. If you receive a call like this:

✔️ Stay calm and ask for specific details about your pet.
✔️ Request the name and location of the veterinary clinic allegedly providing care.
✔️ Contact the clinic directly using a phone number you independently verify.
✔️ Never send money to an unknown individual based solely on a phone call, text message, or social media message.

If a pet is truly receiving emergency veterinary care, a legitimate veterinary clinic will be able to verify that information directly with you.

Please help us spread awareness by sharing this post. Together, we can help protect pet owners from becoming victims of these cruel scams.
