It just felt right to feature Wednesday on a Wednesday. This sweet girl is looking for a lowkey, relaxed home where she can fully be herself. She is affectionate, loves her people, and is just adorably goofy! 🐶🐾

Wednesday is known around here for her clumsiness, silly personality, and unique singing skills. And yes, before you ask, we promise there is no dying chicken in the back. That is just Wednesday serenading staff, volunteers, and unsuspecting guests. 🎶😂

Hi humans, I’m Aurora! 😽🐾

I’m a friendly, people-loving girl that's just looking for the love her of nine lives. I came to FDHS with my brother Alaska when our previous owner could no longer care for us. Everyone here tells me how cool adopted life is and how loved and adored I'll be by my future family. Adopted life sounds faaaabulous! But for now? The workers here are pretty cool and they give me delicious snacks. 😍🏡✨

If you couldn't tell, I have a big purr-sonality packed into a little itty bitty frame! I love attention and am hoping to find a person or family that can give me all the attention a girl like me could want. I've lived with other cats and dogs in my previous home and would be totally content sharing my future home with some other furry friends. 🐱💕🐶

🎅🏻💕 Holiday Spotlight: Fig 💕🎅🏻

Fig is such a sweet girl and would love nothing more than to spend Christmas in a real home, surrounded by love, snacks, and snuggles. She has been with us since mid-July after being found as a stray, and trust us when we say she is going to be fabulous! ✨🐾

This good girl checks a lot of boxes. Fig passed her cat test with flying colors, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and keeps her kennel pretty tidy. She is a big fan of squeaky toys, pup cups, and attention. She is a little selective with other dogs and would likely do best with a more submissive male dog. 🐶🐱🧸

Fig has a bit more energy and loves keeping both her body and brain busy. Her one small flaw is that she sometimes jumps up to give kisses and chin nibbles because she just loves people that much. We are actively working on it. Because of her size and general clumsiness, she would not be the best match for elderly folks or homes with young kids.

With our Home for the Holidays foster program, Fig is hoping this is her chance to trade shelter life for a couch, a Christmas tree, and a whole lot of love. 🏡🎄😍

✨🐾Holiday Spotlight: Mellow 🐾✨

We are so heartbroken to say that Mellow is still here. He has been at FDHS since April and somehow keeps getting overlooked, which makes no sense to us. Mellow is a huge staff and volunteer favorite and has become incredibly special everyone who knows him. He is so loved here, and he deserves way more than another holiday inside the shelter. 🥺🎄

This brindle boy just an all-around good dog. He is so sweet and funny, rides perfectly in the car, and just wants to be near his people. He would need slow intros to kids and other animals, but he is also totally happy being your one and only. Honestly, that might be his dream setup. 💙🚗🐶

With our Home for the Holidays foster program, Mellow’s wish list is short. He wants out of the same four blue walls and into a real home, even if it is just for the holidays.🎁✨

🎅🏻❄️ Holiday Spotlight: Monty ❄️🎅🏻

Monty is a sensitive soul looking for a home for the holiday. He’s currently the longest canine resident at FDHS, and it’s time this sweet guy gets his moment. Monty is looking for a quiet home with one or two humans, calm energy, and a whole lot of love. He is all about peaceful vibes, soft blankets, and zero chaos. 🐾🤍

He can be pretty shy with new people and situations at first, but once he knows you’re safe, he turns into the sweetest little snuggle bug who just wants to be your shadow. Monty seems interested in other mellow dogs and would likely be totally fine with cats (he might be a little intimidated by them). Low-key friends only, please and thank you.😌🐶🐱

Monty is not built for high-traffic households or homes with young kids. He thrives with patience, consistency, and a “we’ll take this at your pace” mindset. Slow and steady really does win the race with this guy. With our Home for the Holidays foster program, Monty is hoping to spend Christmas in a home where he warm, safe, and loved. 🎁✨

Spirit is still looking for a forever home! 🐱🤍

This cutie with little thumbs was found as a stray in a cemetery with his brother Wisp a few weeks ago. While he came to us in rough shape, he has completely bounced back and has been looking for a family of his own.

He is playful, confident, and thriving. Spirit does great with other cats, loves to have fun, and would fit right into just about any home. If you are looking for a cool, social, all-around awesome kitty, Spirit is absolutely your guy!
