I breed on rare occasion for health, type, and temperament- and to produce my future show prospect! All puppies are guaranteed, and all parents are AKC Champions and have had the recommended health testing (OFA, CERF). Companions are sold with Limited AKC registration and show pups will be finished in the show ring, and health tested before breeding.

So for almost 3 weeks we have had our world rocked by the dramatic arrival of this guy. He is a grandson to Malu who just passed, son of Haiku. He has required round the clock care by Haiku with constant assistance from me, the boys, and even my mom to get him to this point. He is not the “litter” we hoped for but he has everyone wrapped around his paw! Name and home status to be determined.

I see I keep giving updates on upcoming litters only to say there are no updates - for over a year now!!! Due to circumstances beyond our control (aka Haiku going into heat while we left her with the dog sitter for vacation!) we still have NO PUPPIES in our near future! Maybe early spring 2018? My priority is happy/healthy dogs so if it's meant to be, it will happen! Until then... just know mom Malu, her son Finn, daughter Haiku, and aunt Posha are all thriving!

As I see people "like" this page I think I should probably give an update! Things are a bit slow here as we have our 4 akita champions who have retired from the show ring for various reasons. Our most recent champion, who finished Spring 2016, Ch. Kyouji's Poetry in Motion, aka Haiku- is our only breeding female. Being the "baby" that she is, we decided to continue to wait to breed her. If we had to predict, it will be July or August before she is ready to take on the roll of momma dog. We actually have a sire lined up and approved, so it's just a matter of the timing being right for our family... and most importantly, for Haiku. Please feel free to contact us to be put on the waiting list! Think Spring!

Our snow... Sorry for the unsympathetic conversation between mom and son!! Lol! Soon Haiku will be too big to be loose... Whenever she decides to find the on/off switch on her ears she gets leashed! One thing I dislike about the breed, the ability to NOT hear you!!

Apparently the key to getting an Akita to play fetch is to give them a cat toy!!

And if this isn't cute I don't know what is! This is "Ali"... Our neighbor aka daughter from another mother!

Papillons vs akita pups. Sorry about my mom/neighbor and her goofy talk to the pups! She'd be pleased to know I was sharing! I think Haiku is pretty pathetic when it comes to my mom's fat papillon Scooter! I think at one time he growled at her and now it's safe to say he's in charge!!! Wiggles seems to know his place too but at least he stays upright!! Lol

First video attempt... Yes, I was baiting the papillon to come play with the puppies! It's amusing to watch! Mostly she runs circles around them and they try desperately to catch her!!!

After our playtime video the puppies followed Finn and I around our 1 acre pond, and became a little confused when the big guy went in!

As promised.... VIDEO!! I have now allowed the "gentle giant" big brother Finn to interact. He is very gentle and the "kids" seem to not be afraid of his size and playful jumping.

Playtime for Ren and his girlfriend after class!! Good socialization!!!

For all of those with ornery Kyouji puppies you will be jealous to know Ren is already raking the yard!

Well I guess we can all agree that one thing is consistent with Kyouji pups... Ornery!! This is Jax (aka Ren) doing a little redecorating on his first day home!!! Looks like he has made himself comfortable! I think the westie is cussing!!!

Video! Is he cute or what? I continue to turn away the wrong homes, making him still available! (Warning, my sound is not working on my phone so I can't preview my annoying voice!)
