☀️ Important Summer Safety Reminder for Your Fur Babies! 🐾

With the warmer weather finally here, I want to make sure all of your amazing pups stay safe, cool, and comfortable. Here are a few essential tips to keep in mind before you head out for your daily adventures:

🐾 The 7-Second Pavement Rule

If the pavement or asphalt is too hot for you to hold the back of your hand against it for 7 seconds, it is too hot for your dog’s paw pads.

The Fix: Stick to early morning or late evening walks when the ground has cooled down, or invest in a good pair of protective booties.

🚿 How to Properly Cool Down a Hot Dog

If your pup is overheating, your instinct might be to soak them entirely—but covering a dog completely with water can actually trap heat against their skin and make them hotter.

The Fix: Only get their paws and belly wet. This allows the water to evaporate effectively and safely lowers their core temperature.

✂️ The Golden Rule for Double-Coated Pups

If you have a breed with a double coat, that fur actually acts as natural insulation against the heat—but only if it’s properly maintained!

The Fix: If there is a buildup of dead undercoat or matting, air cannot circulate, and your dog’s body won’t be able to regulate its temperature. Regular deshedding and brushing are absolutely vital to keeping them cool from the inside out.

I need a break from the heartbreak of saying goodbye to my clients passing 😭🌈 my heart and soul can’t handle anymore loss. Please hold on tighter to your babies. Life is so unfair to them to only live a short amount of time. ❤️‍🩹
