I don’t know who needs to hear this with this nasty weather and no where to haul to but go work your horse in the round pen and go to the lesson. 😂

I know not everyone has access to one and some are lucky enough to have a covered arena. But every year I hear the same things:

“I don’t want to go to my lesson today, it’s in the round pen.”
“What can my kid accomplish just going in a circle?”
“My horse can have the week off; lunging in a round pen is boring.”

Here’s the truth: you can accomplish SO MUCH.

Work on your technique.
Work on your hands.
Work on your body control.
Work on getting your horse soft in the mouth.
Work on their cues and timing.

The round pen is an incredible tool for building fundamentals in a smaller, more controlled environment. Don’t underestimate it, you’ll be amazed at what you and your horse can get done in there.

Due to the recent EHV-1/EHM outbreak in the area, our facility will be temporarily closed as we implement enhanced biosecurity measures. During this time:

• No horses or trailers will be permitted to enter or leave the property.
• No haul-in lessons or outside horses will be accepted.

Please rest assured that as of now, all horses currently on the premises are healthy and safe. These preventive measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution and reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of horse health and facility biosecurity.

We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work to protect the well-being of every horse in our care.

Looking for the right place to board, train, or grow your riding skills? Moss Performance Horses has boarding spots (pasture & stall), training/consignment openings on Dec 1st, and lesson availability!

Our facility offers everything your horse needs to thrive:
✨ Outdoor arena with lights
✨ Covered & lighted oversized roundpen
✨ Wash rack in the barn
✨ Fully enclosed tack room & bathroom
✨ 12x12 stalls and turnouts of varying sizes
✨ Trailer parking available

We’re a drama-free, youth-friendly barn that regularly hauls to local barrel races with students. Lessons are open to beginners through competition level, with a focus on Western riding, barrel racing, poles, and speed events.

Training includes everything from c**t starting and barrel patterning to problem-solving. Whether you’re bringing along a young one or tuning up your finished horse, we’ll help them reach their full potential.

💲 Pricing:
• Pasture board – $500/month
• Stall board – $650/month
• Training – $1,000/month
• Consignment – $550/month + 10% of sale price

Sadie had her debut run on lesson horse, Dolly yesterday!

We always tell our students the goal for the first run is to go out, complete the pattern and say you did the dang thing.
