FIREWORKS AREN’T FUN
Fourth of July Celebrations Start NOW!

Keep your dog safe:
1. Don't take dogs on outings where fireworks will be displayed—even sparklers, firecrackers and bottle rockets can trigger panic.
2. Stay home with your dog during the fireworks and let him hide inside where he feels most secure.
3. Keep windows and doors closed. Be very careful when people are coming and going from the house so your dog doesn't slip out an open door.
4. Draw the curtains to block scary flashes of light, and cover the noise of fireworks with TV or calming music.
5. Distract your dog with frozen treat toys or other safe chew toys.
6. Wrap your dog in a calming vest or give him over-the-counter calming treats at least 30 minutes before the noise begins.
7. When outside during summer holiday seasons, keep your dog on a leash, preferably two—one attached to a martingale collar and one attached to a no-pull harness.
8. Make sure your dog is always wearing an ID with your current contact info.
9. At her annual checkup, have the vet check her microchip and confirm the registration information is current.
9. If you know your dog has problems with fireworks, talk to your vet in advance about canine noise aversion therapies.
10. If you plan to set off fireworks yourself, please give your dog-owning neighbors advance warning.

⭐ Set up a speaker
⭐ Provide enrichment
⭐ Provide all necessities (including comfort items)
