The colorado story... About a year and a half ago , we started helping a senior who had a new puppy. Shortly after she got the puppy , the lady's health started going down hill. Nikki started staying with us more and more of the time and going back to visit her owner just for a day or two. Knowing how much we loved nikki , the owner finally asked us to go ahead and keep her and we would continue to bring her for visits. About six months later , the lady suddenly decided to move to colorado with her daughter and asked to have nikki back. Although it broke our hearts, how could we refuse. We were assured that should something happen.Nikki would always come back to us, no matter what. Well, something did happen shortly after going to Colorado. There started being issues between Nikki's owner and family members due to health and some mental health issues appearing. The owner ended up being hospitalized and even though the owner and the family were adamant about nikki coming back here, a social worker took Nikki and gave her to a friend. They were not wanting to give her back. After pulling out lots of signed forms and legal agreements they finally agreed to give her back, provided we pay what i consider to be a ransom of $425. I got her back last night, she went crazy. The second she heard my voice and refuses to leave my side. This morning we went and visited her former owner, who hadn't seen her in a few weeks and let her stay her goodbyes. And now we are at the airport , waiting for our plane to head back home. And Nikki will be home with her forever family
