PET OF THE DAY!

Hope is a tiny bundle of love whose sweet personality will melt your heart. She gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and adults, and would do best in a home with older children. 💕

She is crate trained, housebroken, and is as cute as can be! Hope is also diabetic, but giving her the twice-daily insulin shots she needs is quick and easy, she even wags her tail the whole time. 💕

This super-sweet little fur baby is ready to find her forever family. Could that be yours?

Hope is 8-1/2 years old and weighs 9 pounds.

Hope's adoption fee is only $99 through the end of August. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you ever wanted a panther of your own, check out Delilah. This petite, sweet beauty is playful and full of energy. She loves to chase and leap for her feather wand. So fun to watch her antics!

In honor of her 7th birthday, Delia chose to celebrate in the most generous way — by giving back to the animals at Helping Strays! 💕 She donated paper towels, Clorox wipes, a bag of new toys, and other supplies. Her family also gave a check to support the shelter.

Ebony is thriving in her foster home!

She was anxious and not gaining weight at the shelter but now she’s settling in nicely at her foster home. Ebony is walking well on leash, enjoying playtime with her foster’s dog, and making great progress with housebreaking. She is eating well, gaining confidence, and showing just how sweet she really is.

Best of all, Ebony gets along wonderfully with the grandkids! 🧒🐶

PETS OF THE DAY! LUCY AND RICKY

As endearing as the tv legend she is named for, little Lucy is hard to resist. She loves playing with her brother Ricky and batting his tail. With a petite face the color of toffee, Lucy is as cute as she is sweet. These siblings would be happiest in a home together.

Lucy and Ricky are about three months old.

The adoption fee for kittens under 7 months old is $125. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. Please stop by the shelter during open hours if you are interested in meeting a kitten.

🚨 URGENT MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED 🚨

Our sweet girl Scholar is going in for surgery tomorrow to have her hind leg amputated. 💔 She has been so brave through everything, and now she needs a safe, loving place to heal.

We are urgently looking for a medical foster who can give her the extra care and attention she’ll need after surgery. Scholar will need a calm environment where she can rest, recover, and adjust to life on three legs. We will provide all her medical needs and support—what she really needs is someone willing to open their heart and home to her during this recovery.

PET OF THE DAY!

Rutherford is a big, handsome sweetheart with an even bigger personality! This social, talkative boy is as loving as they come—he enjoys cuddling with adults, kids, and even other cats. Rutherford is playful and curious, whether he’s chasing a wand toy, batting around a ball, or scratching on his post. At night, he’ll happily curl up on the bed with you.

One of Rutherford’s favorite things in the world is soft blankets—if you put one on your lap, he’ll knead and “make bread” while giving you the sweetest little massage before bed.

He is incredibly gentle and patient with children, even allowing them to pick him up and carry him around. He has also snuggled and groomed other cats, showing just how kind and social he is. With his affectionate, dog-like personality, Rutherford thrives on attention and will happily soak up all the love you can give. While he loves other cats and kids, he is not a fan of dogs and should not be adopted into a home with dogs.

Rutherford truly is the whole package—loving, playful, social, and oh-so-handsome. He’s also a big boy, which just means more to love! We believe he would do wonderfully as someone’s one-and-only cat, soaking up all the affection he deserves.

If you walk in the door to meet Rutherford, you won’t want to leave without him—he is pure perfection. 💙

Rutherford is four years old and weighs 16 pounds.
