I do keep fairly good production records and my average live surviving kit production rate is 2.3 per litter. This accounts for those dead on the wire and peanuts that die in a few days.

Yesterday I had a litter of five with two peanuts and this morning a litter of six that all look normal. YEAH.

I set up a pedigree for the six. Surely one will be showable.

A year ago, due to unreliable sourcing of Purina Show pellets through Tractor Supply, sometimes taking 4 and 6 weeks for an order to show up, I switched to Heinold General sourced 34 miles away but with reliable 1-2 week supply time.

I noticed that 1/3 of my rabbits seemed to really like eating it, 1/3 seemed indifferent, and 1/3 definietly were not happy.

Just this last week I stumbled upon a Purina source that would deliver right to my door and I ordered 10 bags on a Friday and it came on Monday via FedEx.

Heinold "10 bag cost" including pickup (gas at $4.00 per gallon) was $0.5525 per pound and Purina cost is $0.5668 per pound a difference of $0.0143 or about 2.58 percent more.

Those with Holland Lop Otters listen up because you probably also have Foxes (Torted Otters) which are not currently showable.

This variety is up for SOP approval in Reno at the ARBA Convention. 25 Fox rabbits were needed for the approval process. This screen shot shows the gender/age distribution of the 32 animals entered.

Silver Marten Hollands are also looking for approval. I have only ever had a few of these in 20 years and they are spectacular looking animals.

Numbers are posted!!!

Holland Lop Foxes met the 25 entry threshold for possible approval.

The best part of the Missouri Quad and specialty shows this past weekend in Sedalia, MO was not winning two BOBs with different rabbits, though that was pretty awesome, nor was it the very fun specialty award pictured, but it was the multiple mini-teaching sessions offered by judge and Holland Lop breeder Chris Zemny who flew in from California to judge.

Seeing 10+ breeders gathered around the judging tables as Chris several times found a rabbit, to do a deep dive into the key foundations of body structure, and crown and ear development was gold in itself. AND there were many tips on what to look for in juniors to keep as grow outs.

Her 45 years experience raising Hollands provided us all with a deeper understanding and direction from which to further develop the breed in Missouri.

Thanks also to Brenda Johnson's decades-long involvement in rabbits to arrange for Chis to attend and judge.

Right NOW.

Sunday Sept 13, is the deadline for entries into the annual Midwest Classic Weekend Mini Convention Show in Sedalia, MO.

Get your rabbits entries in NOW.

My entry is almost double from previous years. These are all rabbits that I believe have a chance to place in the top 5.

Looking forward to seeing some rabbit-people as I don't get out to many shows.
