PAALS - Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services PAALS trains assistance dogs to help individuals with disabilities other than blindness or deafness.

PAALS mission is to enrich and empower children and adults with physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities by training service animals and providing animal assisted educational, therapeutic, and recreational activities. Our mission is to enrich and empower children and adults with physical disabilities and social needs by training service dogs and providing animal assisted educational and r

ecreational activities. These dogs can help with a vast array of tasks to assist with physical disabilities and social needs. Our assistance dogs to help individuals with mobility disabilities, veterans and others with PTSD/TBI and children with autism. We also train facility dogs who work with a professional in a variety of health, education or rehabilitation facilities. We also conduct many programs within our community to educated about service dogs and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

From the sounds of exotic animals to the sights (and smells!) of the zoo, every moment is a learning opportunity that helps prepare our pups to confidently support their future partners. 💙

Our service dogs-in-training had an exciting field trip to Riverbanks Zoo and Garden ! Outings like these are an important part of their education, giving the dogs a chance to practice focus and obedience in new, busy, and sometimes surprising environments.

As one of the Rogers family’s two beloved cats, Joventa’s favorite pastimes include sunbathing in the warmest spots, following her human Moreen everywhere, and proudly delivering “gifts” around the house, from pants to socks, no item is safe. 🧦👕

🐾 Hey friends, my name is Moose, a distinguished gentleman with a story to tell. 🐶💛

I was pushed out of a car and left behind, but fate had other plans. My mom’s friend brought me to her because she loves ALL the strays, and when she took me to the vet, we found out I was very sick with heartworms and other troubles. 💔 She even dipped into her $secret stash$ (🤫 don’t tell Dad!) to get me healthy again.

See, Dad had just lost his best boy, Mr. Manfredi, and said “no more dogs.” But Mom knew there was something special about me, and when Dad looked into my eyes, he knew it too. Now, I’m part of the family, loved beyond measure, and proud to be a survivor. ✨
