Greater Columbia Obedience Club The Greater Columbia Obedience Club, Inc. (GCOC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1968. We hold several trials and matches each year.

(GCOC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1968 to promote the sport of dog obedience. GCOC is an all-volunteer organization made up of local dog sport enthusiasts. The club is sanctioned by the American Kennel Club (AKC) to hold obedience, rally, and agility trials in the area. Part of our mission includes public education about training and competition dog sports. We subscribe to the the

ory that a trained dog is a happy dog. The club encourages and promotes positive reinforcement and reward-based training methods.

Spring is here and so are our April Classes! 🌼Preview courses now at gcoc.net/classes.
FAQ:

🌸 Classes opened for registration on Mar. 5th for club members and on Mar. 7th for the public.
🌸 Not every class runs during every session.
🌸 New classes will be posted to GCOC's website on the 1st of May.
🌸 All classes are taught by member volunteers who truly love to train and teach.
🌸 Puppy Kindergarten class is for puppies up to 6 months old.

Join us for an exciting weekend at our AKC Scent Work Trial!

Mickle Farm’s – Blythewood, SC

Come watch some incredible working dogs in action or participate with your own pup!

Event Highlights:
• Barn Bites Food Truck will be on site serving delicious food
• Dry camping available – $25 per night
• Great atmosphere for competitors, spectators, and dog sport enthusiasts

Get ready for a great weekend of agility! Join us April 2–5, 2026 for our AKC Agility Trial held at a new temporary location this year.

Please Note: This is a new, temporary site as our regular location is not available this year.

Trial Details:
• Judge: Bill Pinder
• ISC L2 & L3 course design by Petr Pupik
• Surface: Outdoors on groomed dirt

Schedule:
• Thursday, April 2: ISC classes only (all levels)
• Friday–Sunday: Titling classes

Entry Information:
• Entries opened: February 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM
• Closing date: March 23, 2026 at 11:00 PM

Our upcoming Obedience & Rally Trials will be held May 2–3 at Tri-City Leisure Center in West Columbia. We’re excited for a full weekend of great dogs, great handlers, and a supportive community!

Location: Tri-City Leisure Center – West Columbia
Dates: May 2–3

Trial Details:
• One Obedience Trial and Two Rally Trials each day
• Entries open March 16 on the trial secretary’s website

Ring Rental – Friday (May 1)
4:00–6:00 PM
• First come, first served
• $5 for 5 minutes
• Cash only – pay at sign up

Join GCOC for a seminar by local rehabilitation vet Dr. Ashley Barton, DVM, DACVAA, CVA, CCRP. This 2.5 hour seminar will cover forelimb and hindlimb injures, conditioning and prevention, treatment and rehab, and will have a demo dog.

Refreshments will be provided. This is a human-only seminar. There are no working spots.
