Posing with the one and only best coach ❤️ It helps that we’re basically the same person… we both train dogs, train horses, and love to lift! She is helping me become someone I’ve never been.

Practicing the “down” command during today’s pack walk! 🐾

Having the dogs settle into a down as we pass other dogs helps create a calmer environment, gives other dogs space to feel comfortable, and teaches my pack to manage their excitement around distractions.

Here’s the training takeaway: obedience isn’t just about whether your dog listens in a controlled environment. It’s about whether they can respond to you when real-life distractions are present. 💯

Every time you ask your dog to hold a command while the world moves around them, you’re building impulse control, focus, and trust. These everyday moments teach your dog that listening to you matters everywhere, not just during a formal training session.

Train in the environment you want your dog to succeed in. Consistency creates reliability, and reliability is built one repetition at a time. 🐕‍🦺

Today is Wolfie’s last off-leash pack walk 🤍

This weekend, she’ll be heading to her forever home in NYC, where she’ll spend her days exploring the city, going on walks, and playing with her people.

I can’t help but feel a little piece of my heart breaking as she gets ready to leave. I pour so much of myself into these dogs. They become part of my everyday life, my routines, and my heart. I get to watch them grow, learn, and become the dogs they were always meant to be, and then, just like that, it’s time to let them go.

There’s something so special about raising a dog and knowing the impact you’ve had on their life, but that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. A little piece of my soul goes with every dog I send home, and I can only hope they carry the love I’ve poured into them throughout their lifetime. 🤍

🐾 Puppy foundations with Cooper 🤍

At 12 weeks old, we’re building the skills that will set Cooper up for a lifetime of success!

Today we’re working on:
✨ Name recognition so he learns that hearing his name means to check in with us.
🖱️ Clicker recognition so he understands how to identify the exact moment he gets something right.
🐾 Recall to build a reliable response when called.
🤲 Luring to teach him how to follow guidance, learn new positions, and understand what we’re asking of him.

The key to a well-trained dog is building clear communication from the beginning. We don’t just teach puppies commands. We teach them how to learn. 🤍
