We lost almost ALL our springtail cultures while on vacation. 💀

Only to find 12–15 cultures wiped out. Even our Fire Orange Springtails had turned white.

The culprit? Bleach in our well water. And we’d unknowingly sprayed that water on almost everything.

Thankfully, ONE culture survived. Now we’re rebuilding the entire colony from that single survivor.

Hard lesson learned: Always know what’s in the water you’re using for your springtails.

Have you ever lost an entire isopod or springtail colony? What happened?

What I feed my isopods: bug burger, cuttlefish bone, fish flakes, spirulina, bee pollen.

Check your species before you serve any of it.

Our golden poison dart frogs knew exactly what was coming. 🐸🪳

We lightly dust their X Small Red Runners with supplements before feeding, then let the frogs hunt naturally.

Shipping isopods is not as simple as putting them in a box. 📦

We insulate every live order to help protect the animals from changing temperatures during transit. Proper packaging can make all the difference when your isopods are traveling across the country.

Creation Cultivated works hand-in-hand with MiceDirect to prepare and ship our live orders with care.

Why do we include fresh carrot with our Red Runners? 🥕🪳

The carrot provides a source of moisture during shipment, helping keep the roaches hydrated as they travel to their destination.
