An unexpected friendship between a turkey and warthog wasn’t on our 2026 bingo card, yet here we are 🦃🫶🐗

Duke the Turkey is one of our more recent residents of the park - a free-roaming fella who we like to consider a ✨wandering soul✨

Like a game of “Where’s Waldo,” it’s always interesting for staff to see where (and with who) Duke decides to set up shop… at least temporarily, until he decides it’s on to the next location. It’s a game we’ve played for the past couple of months, so imagine our surprise when he picked a new habitat - the home of Wilma the Warthog - and has shown zero signs of wanting to move out. And thus, a new friendship was born 😂

You can come and meet this unlikely duo on our Safari Drive Thru the next time you’re at the park!

I spy with my little eye… something red on the Safari Drive Thru!! 👀

Meet our new species, the Russian Red Tufted Squirrel 🐿️
These youngsters are known for their seasonal ear tuffs, which will begin to lengthen come fall 🍁

Keep an eye out in the Lowlands area (near the camels) the next time you’re at the park. With colder weather (eventually) on the way, you’ll get a front row view of nature’s hair dresser at work 💈✂️

….What she said!! Our Reptile Experience just got even cooler 🐢😎

We are happy to report that our Aldabra Tortoises, Charlie and Darla - who have been busy settling into their new home here at NOGAWILD - have informed our PR team that they are, in fact, ready to meet guests… as long as transactional neck scratches are involved 🤝
