**MEDICATION AVAILABILITY ISSUE**

Phenobarbital (a medication for seizure disorders) for veterinary use is experiencing localized stockouts and supply inconsistencies. There is NOT a nationwide shortage at this time. The stockouts are driven by a limited number of manufacturers, raw material supply chain disruptions, strict DEA production quotas for the controlled substances, and high demand.

WHAT TO DO:

Order Early: Get your refill AT LEAST TWO WEEKS before you run out.
Check Multiple Local Pharmacies
Check with Compounding Pharmacies

DO NOT STOP OR REDUCE DOSAGES- this can trigger severe seizures.
