🌾 Beware of Cheatgrass Season! 🐾
As the weather warms up, cheatgrass and foxtails becomes a hidden danger for our dogs. These dry, barbed grass seeds can easily lodge between toes, in ears, eyes, noses, and even under the skin, causing painful infections and sometimes requiring surgical removal.
🐕 After every walk, hike, or outdoor adventure:
✅ Check between your dog's toes and paw pads
✅ Inspect ears, eyes, and around the nose
✅ Brush through their coat, especially long-haired dogs
✅ Remove any grass awns you find right away
Watch for signs such as:
🔸 Excessive licking or chewing at the feet
🔸 Sudden limping
🔸 Head shaking or ear scratching
🔸 Sneezing or nasal discharge
🔸 Swelling, redness, or draining sores
A quick paw check can prevent a painful problem later. If your pet is showing any of these signs, give us a call at (509) 758-5022, we're here to help keep your best friend safe all season long.
