I never ever ever expect any gifts from anyone and when Ginger and Sugars family came today, to my surprise they had a sweet gift bag for me. I teared up because the top left on the canvas is a photo of myself and my best mare that I lost. Seeing them care so much to make this for me and include one of the best horses I have ever had makes my heart happy. They also gifted me the most beautiful necklace, and I absolutely love it!!!!
The card is just so special. The words make me want to keep going and never give up. You have no idea how much these gifts mean to me. Thank you for absolutely everything. ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ

Oh I didnt get a pic, but they brought a whole bag of yummy treats for the training horses as well! So so sweet. :)

Bittersweet for sure when those long term horses get to head home after being in my barn! Ginger snd Sugar, you two are so special. Your owners are so special. Thank you all for driving 7 hours just to have me start your horses. This means so much to me. Seeing the smiles, and the happy tears makes it all worth it. Safe travels home!!! You all are a blessing to me!!! ๐ŸŒŸ

Lots and lots of handling, desensitizing, softening up, and groundwork for this girl. She already has changed so much. Catching her has become super easy now, still using the leadrope, but thats how things start.
She is changing directions on a line so nicely now, without trying to dip out! We are pivoting shoulders, and disengaging her hindend as well. ๐ŸŒŸ A lot of what I do with her is just allowing her to soak in me touching her and understand its okay! She is still very sensative, so a lot of DESENSITIZING will do her good. She has such a willing soul, just still has that feral mind at times, but I am going to to get her where she needs to be. โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜
If you knew where we started, this is huge! ๐ŸŒŸ

Last time I scraped my knee I was like 10yrs old lol. You dont realize how important your knee is until you've gashed it hahahaha.

"That trainer sure uses her roundpen a lot..." ๐Ÿง

Oh yes I've heard it. Enough to where I'll make a post about it. ;)

Let's talk about a "Roundpen" and why I use it with the c**ts I am riding. It's not because I work them in circles around and around all day. It's not that I don't trust these c**ts/horses out in a big area, it's not that all I do is roundpen work... But want to know WHY I use my roundpen alot?

Well first, it's not your average 40-60ft roundpen. My roundpen is over 200ft around and allows me to start c**ts in a safe setting all while being able to do arena work as well.

Second, I am a FIRM believer that a horse should be started in a controlled environment until they are confident in ALL gaits, that they know whoa, that they know how to one rein stop, and just have the basics underneath them.

Third, I believe you can achieve a lot on both the ground and in the saddle in a larger roundpen. A roundpen is essential to what I do. Everyone does their own thing but yes I do ride in my "roundpen" daily before taking horses out. I can work patterns, soften them up, warm them up, and get them confident in themselves all while have the benefit of a roundpen and an arena. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

So when you see me "riding so much in a roundpen setting" you can go back and look on this to remind yourself that I do this because it's something I believe in. These horses get in larger arenas trust me. But I focus on getting a nice, quiet, supple, and confident horse in my roundpen and THEN taking them out you see everything come together.
So no, it is not just going around and around and around. When you know more about horsemanship and using your tools, it's actually pretty important. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Edit: I am reaching out to someone tomorrow. Thanks for all the reccomendations. โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜

I had an order out to get a horse tail made into a memory and I have been waiting 3 weeks and have had zero communication. :/ I need reccomendations on who can make a small but sweet memory with the horses tail. My friend lost her girl and I need 2 special pieces made. I tried to go local, but now its been way to long and I would really love something done for them. TIA โค๏ธ

This horse is my spirit animal lol ๐Ÿ˜† Go check this crazy animal out. He is a hoot! โค๏ธ

Remmy is walking out with a rider and moving out at the walk pretty well. A couple more sessions doing this, then we will do a passenger session and get him moving forward in all gaits. ๐ŸŒŸ ๐Ÿคฉ

Apricot made such great success with lunging and changing directions today! ๐ŸŒŸ
She is getting easier to catch, and even remembered to pivot her shoulder and disengage her hind end. She is still a bit timid, but I am so excited to get her desensitized and hopefully going undersaddle! I won't rush her though. She is still very very timid at times so gaining her confidence is the main goal right now! โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜

Goose is becoming the best boy ever. โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜
I love throwing a leg over this c**t. Now I am focusing on slowing his legs down and gaining a nice jog while collected. Its the inbetween work that matters the most. ๐ŸŒŸ ๐Ÿคฉ
I always say, trust the process even if its all about repetition some days and getting them solid. โค๏ธ
