We love a good success story! Dr. Stout recently removed Violet's right eye due to a concerning growth. The eye was sent off for analysis, which confirmed the cancer and showed clear margins. We are so happy to report that miss Violet is cancer free!

Great job Dr. Stout and the Idaho Animal Rescue Network team!

We have some wonderful news to share about Violet!

This morning, Dr. Stout at Rustebakke Veterinary Service let us know that Violet’s histopathology results are back, and they brought the news we were hoping for.

The mass on her eye was confirmed to be squamous cell carcinoma. The good news is that the pathology report indicates the cancerous tissue was completely removed during surgery, with clean margins.

Based on these results, Dr. Stout does not expect this to cause any further problems for Violet.

We are so incredibly grateful for the excellent veterinary care she received and for everyone who has supported Violet along the way. While losing an eye is never easy, this outcome is the very best we could have hoped for, and we are excited to see her continue healing and enjoying life. 🐴

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be scary and stressful for many pets.

Call us as soon as possible if you think your pet may benefit from calming medication.

A few extra tips:
🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
🏷️ Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🎶 Close windows and play calming music or white noise to help mask the sounds.

The American Heartworm Society just released their 2025 prevalence map. Out area is seeing 1–6 heartworm cases per clinic. While that number is small, this disease is closer to home than ever before.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes—it only takes one bite
• Dogs AND cats are at risk
• Heartworm disease is serious (and costly) to treat
• Prevention is simple, safe, and far less expensive than treatment

💊 Year-round prevention is key
Heartworm prevention should be given every month, all year long—not just in summer—and paired with flea & tick prevention for full protection.
