Canine Companions Rescue Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation founded in 2004 for the purpose of working with the community and area animal control agencies to promote the adoption of dogs without families. We also advocate spaying/neutering animals and provide support and education to the community regarding the proper care of dogs. If our adopters and our dogs are both happier after the match, then we've done our job! CCRC is based in Oakland County and we rescue dogs throughout Michigan.

🏡 FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR LUCY 🏡

This beautiful girl is 4 years old, about 30 lbs., and believed to be a Husky/Pomeranian mix. Before coming to CCRC, Lucy was used for breeding and had never even stepped outside. 😕

Imagine experiencing the world for the very first time at four years old.

Lucy has been slowly learning that life can be safe, kind, and even fun. She has already made so much progress, but now she needs a foster home or even better, a foster-to-adopt home🙌

🐾 Lucy will need a safe, quiet space in the home where she can decompress and acclimate.

🐾 She needs someone patient who understands that new things will take her a little longer.

🐾 She has done amazing with the dogs she has met, so another friendly, confident dog could be a wonderful companion for her.

And you won’t be doing this alone. CCRC will set both you AND Lucy up for success. We provide the supplies, guidance, transportation and support you need along the way.👍

Lucy has spent enough of her life simply existing. Now we want her to learn what it means to be someone’s dog. 💗

🚨❤️ CHOCO NEEDS OUR HELP!! WE HAVE ANSWERS⬇️

We originally suspected Choco had a PDA but today’s echocardiogram revealed something different⬇️

Choco has severe pulmonary stenosis, which means the valve that allows blood to flow from his heart to his lungs is severely narrowed. His little heart has to work much harder than it should. 💔

🚨Choco will need a procedure called a balloon dilation valvuloplasty at Michigan State University. During the procedure, a small balloon is used to open the narrowed valve and help blood flow more normally🚨🎈

We already know Choco’s procedure and specialized cardiac care will cost more than $5,000, so we can’t wait to begin fundraising.

Choco is only 10 months old and has his whole life ahead of him. 🙏🐾 We’re going to do everything we can to give him the healthy future he deserves.🙏

We need our village behind Choco🖤

🚨OKAY… WE HAVE QUESTIONS🚨

Peanut and Shadow would like to know why nobody is applying for them. 😂 Seriously… LOOK AT THESE FACES!

🐾 Peanut is a 20-lb Chihuahua/Pug mix who wants to be part of the family—adventures, snuggles, couch time… he’s in!

🐾 Shadow is an 11½ year young Chihuahua mix who still has plenty of s***k! He loves toys, sunny naps, cruising the yard and showing off his occasional “old man zoomies.” 😂

Somehow, these two have gotten very little interest, and we just don’t get it!

💗Meet Sweetie! 11 years old going on 5! 💗

Don’t tell Sweetie she’s a senior because she clearly didn’t get the memo!🤪

At 11 years young, this Rat Terrier mix is mostly sugar with just a sprinkle of terrier sass!👑

Sweetie LOVES her walks but takes her beauty sleep just as seriously! She’s crate trained, housebroken, and ready to be your full-time shadow. Personal space? Never heard of it! 🥰

She prefers small dog pals and tolerates bigger dogs who respect her royal boundaries.🐶

Sweetie does have allergies, and we want her future family to understand that managing them will be an ongoing part of her care. She has had allergy testing and does great with her daily medication and is limited on the food that she can eat. She can still have occasional flare-ups that may need a little extra care, but this is simply part of Sweetie and something her forever family will need to continue managing throughout her life.💕

And trust us, Sweetie doesn’t let any of that slow her down!🐕

She may be a senior on paper, but her heart is young, her personality is BIG, and she has SO much love left to give! ❤️
