SPCA Cincinnati

SPCA Cincinnati Ohio's 1st humane society is redefining what animal welfare can be. Because animal welfare is human welfare. Privately funded. Community powered!

Founded in 1873, SPCA Cincinnati has a long history of service to the Greater Cincinnati community. Originally founded as the Ohio Humane Society, it was the first organization of its kind in Ohio. In 1907, the name was changed to The Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which was headquartered in downtown Cincinnati. The headquarters moved to Colerain Avenue in Norths

ide in the 1930s. Thanks to the generosity of the community, SPCA Cincinnati built the Sharonville Humane Center in 2008, and received Simmonds Farm as a donation in 2009. The current headquarters for the SPCA Cincinnati is 11900 Conrey Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. This location is SPCA’s only operating shelter facility. Today, SPCA Cincinnati remains the very epitome of true service to the people and animals in our community. SPCA Cincinnati takes in over 7,305 dogs and 6,001 cats annually. In addition to providing shelter and rehabilitation to these animals in need, SPCA Cincinnati collaborates with government, law enforcement, and social service organizations in its ongoing effort to encourage humane principles and foster the human-animal bond.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined SPCA Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Reds for another unforgettable Bark in the Park—and an extra shout out to our devoted volunteers who make these community moments possible.

Your support helps create brighter futures for animals in need through visibility and positive conversations, while bringing together pet lovers from across our region. These games are truly a special occasion!

Moreover, our humane society is incredibly grateful for the funds donated to our cause to further our lifesaving mission. $3,200 to rescue, heal, dignify and place deserving pets in loving homes.

If you missed tonight's fun, mark your calendar for Game 3 as the Reds take on the Cardinals on Tuesday, August 18—we can't wait to see you and your canine MVP at the ballpark!

Twice the love. Doubled up in gratitude!

This week gave us a meaningful reminder of the incredible community that stands beside SPCA Cincinnati.

We are deeply grateful to New Riff Distilling for sharing their time, energy, and compassion through volunteer service, and to B.P. Shelley & Associates for their generous donation of much-needed supplies and hands-on support for our enrichment program.

Moments like these inspire us to pause and reflect on the kindness that fuels our mission every day. To both organizations, thank you for showing up for our animals and for helping make a brighter future possible.

This week's Big, Bully, and Beautiful feature proves that senior dogs still have plenty of love, life, and personality left to share. Meet Bella: a sweet, resilient girl who's ready to spend her golden years in a home of her own. 💛

Bella is almost 12, almost deaf, a little creaky from arthritis, and still somehow has more energy than most of us before our morning coffee.

Rescued from St. Lucia, this happy-go-lucky girl loves her people, enjoys a good adventure, and is always ready for affection. But don't worry, she's also a professional couch potato who would gladly spend the day curled up beside you.

With a heart as big as her smile, Bella is ready to trade shelter life for cozy couches, belly rubs, and a family who loves her as much as she'll love them. ✨🐾

🐾‼️Urgent foster needed!‼️🐾

Meet Daisy! 🌼 She more than makes up for her missing leg with an overflow of love and happiness. She doesn't even seem to notice her lack of leg, but nonetheless, she needs to heal!

If you or someone you know would be open to giving Daisy a loving home to heal in for the next couple weeks, please call or stop by today! (P.S.- fosters get first dibs on adopting 😉)

SPCA is all about building relationships to create community partners.

Our newest group, Summit Funding, volunteered recently and spent the morning loving on a number of our 4-legged friends, as well as helped to make dog enrichment.

We laughed, had fun, and accomplished so much together! Thank you Summit Funding Group for all your hard work!
