Mountain View Humane is proud to provide free transportation to pets that live outside our immediate service area. The Hip-To-Snip Trip trucks meet the pet owners at a central location and are transported to MVH’s Spay/Neuter Clinics for their surgery. Our mobile unit travels to remote areas for those individuals who are unable to bring their pet to our Christiansburg clinic. If unsure of your bes

t option, contact our office at 540.382.0222. As a regional facility, we work with a number of other organizations and shelters to provide spay/neuter within the region surrounding the clinics. If you live outside the Roanoke/Christiansburg areas, there may be an organization near you that participates in our transport program.

Thank you to everyone who donated and shared our posts for Giving Tuesday yesterday!

Your support means we can help more pets in our communities receive the care they need. From all of us—and the animals whose lives you’ve touched—thank you for being a part of our mission. Together, we’re making a difference!

Last call for Giving Tuesday!

We’re so close to making our box truck upgrades a reality — but we need your help to cross the finish line. We know that more cold days like today are ahead and it's imperative that our pet transport truck is climate controlled. Unfortunately, we just don't have enough ear muffs and sweaters for all the pets, so we're relying on your help!

Heating and air conditioning in the back of our transport vehicle means pets from underserved communities can travel safely and comfortably to their spay/neuter appointments.

Our goal is to raise $5,500
Every dollar brings us closer!
Help us end Giving Tuesday with a win for the pets. Donate now! https://www.mvhclinic.org/donate-now/

We’re on our way — but we need YOU!

Mountain View Humane transports pets from rural communities to our clinic so they can receive essential spay/neuter services. In fact, in Fiscal Year 2025, we drove 7,528 miles and transported 1,246 cats and dogs to and from our clinic within a one hour radius that includes seven counties. But without climate control in the back of our box truck, pets can face uncomfortable temperatures during transit.

Your Giving Tuesday donation helps fund the $5,500 needed for heating and air conditioning so every pet travels safely.

Your gift = safer rides for every pet we serve.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Donate now! Donation link in comments.

It’s Giving Tuesday!

Today, we’re raising $5,500 to install heating and air conditioning in the back of our transport box truck — because every pet deserves a safe and comfortable ride to and from their spay/neuter surgery.

Our transport routes reach communities with little or no access to affordable veterinary services. With your help, we can make these lifesaving trips even safer.
Will you help us reach our goal?

Together, we can make comfort part of every journey. Please donate today! https://www.mvhclinic.org/donate-now/

What We Do

Mountain View Humane is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that operates the Waldron-Ricci Spay Neuter Clinic in Christiansburg. The mission of Mountain View Humane is to end pet overpopulation in Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia by providing affordable, high-quality spay and neuter services to the general public, while providing education on the benefits of aggressive spay and neuter programs.

Spay/neuter is a simple solution to the complex problem of the euthanasia epidemic, which destroys 4 million animals each year and is a direct result of animals left unaltered in communities. We know the love that a companion pet brings to our lives, and want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to not only have a companion pet, but provide it with the care needed. We rely solely on community support and grant funding to operate our clinic.
