DID YOU KNOW? Pet disappearances spike by 30–60% around the Fourth of July (Pet Amber Alert). 🤕

That’s why July is Lost Pet Prevention Month—and why now is the time to protect your furry family. ❗️

Summer celebrations bring unexpected risks: open doors, fireworks, and backyard parties can all startle pets and send them bolting. Just ask Santana. He went missing during a busy time and wasn’t seen again… until years later, when we scanned the microchip of a local community cat and realized—it was him. That microchip brought him home. 🏡🐾

Not every lost pet is as lucky as Santana. So while your pets are still safe at home, here’s how to keep it that way:
✅ Make sure microchips and ID tags are up to date
✅ Keep doors and gates securely closed
✅ Spay or neuter to reduce the urge to roam
✅ Use a leash or carrier anytime pets are outdoors or moving between places
✅ Watch for signs of stress, especially in multi-pet homes

Don’t wait until it’s too late. A few minutes of prevention can save you years of worry.

The moment Shadowheart saw High Priestess Daniel, he became his biggest fan—and shadow. Literally. He followed him nose-first... right to the freshly trimmed caboose. 🍑 Let’s just say, boundaries are a work in progress. 😅

Bingo didn’t need five in a row to claim his big win! 🏆 Just one lucky call was all it took to secure his jackpot: a Happy Ending Tail filled with love. 🍀💚

This charming tabby has had quite the week! From the moment he arrived home, it was clear he belonged. He has settled in quickly, bringing warmth and happiness to every room. 😸

Previously named Knuckles, Bingo has perfected finding joy in the little things. Whether he’s napping in cozy (and sometimes hilariously awkward) positions, chasing toys with gusto, or bird-watching from the windows, these simple pleasures brighten his days. 🐤🪀

His adopters adore his affectionate nature and the way he’s always ready to strike up a conversation. 🥰 And he’s never more than a soft meow away from asking for and receiving plenty of cuddle time.

Bingo has made a remarkable start in his new home, and his adopters can’t imagine life before he came along. He’s more than just a winner—he’s their greatest and most grand prize.🥇📖

These kittens are having the time of their lives—thanks to the amazing youth volunteers from ! 🐝🍯

Two weeks ago, young volunteers and their families from across Chicago joined us at Tree House to craft enrichment toys for cats recovering in our isolation units. These thoughtful, handmade creations brought comfort and joy to some of our most vulnerable residents. 💚🐾

At Tree House, we believe every caretaker—whether big or small, young or old—has the power to make a difference. And it all starts with community.

Three hundred and forty days. That’s how long Korra’s been waiting for a new beginning. 📅

Most people come into our shelter looking for a playful and cuddly fur baby—which we get! We love a cuddly kitty, too! Korra, however, is more independent and prefers a slower life. She likes a good snooze on the couch, and she takes her time when batting at toys. 🕰️

If you’re the kind of person who looks up at the constellations before bed… or takes the long way on a walk… you might be Korra’s favorite person. 💌

How do you say “meow”? Harriet the Spy says it like “maow!”—with a raspy little voice that’s as endearing as she is. 🥺

This sweet senior gal (she’s 11!) lives in a cozy kitty condo on our adoption floor. 🏢 It’s her safe space, but it also means she can be a little tucked away. So here’s what you might miss:

The moment Harriet spots you through her window, she perks right up and calls out with a chirpy “maow!” Step inside, and she’ll hop down from her cat tower to gently nuzzle your legs in greeting.

Harriet can be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she turns into a full-on lap cat. She loves basking in sunbeams, lounging in warm spots, and curling up with her favorite people. ☀️
