Meet Dagmar, the four-legged dynamo with a heart of gold and a tennis ball obsession that rivals Federer’s.

Dagmar’s hobbies include enthusiastically chasing tennis balls, immediately dropping them for another round, and trying to figure out if she’s part Labrador or just a really convincing impostor. She’s got a soft spot for cuddles and will happily transform into a lap dog if you let her—tennis ball firmly in mouth, of course.

She’s curious about other dogs but hasn’t quite figured out if she wants to play or just announce her presence with some enthusiastic barking. Dagmar’s dream life? Endless tennis balls, belly rubs, and a warm lap to curl up in. She’s sweet, spunky, and ready to bring some energy (and tennis balls) to your life!

Petey is searching for a foster or adopter to call his own! This sweet 8-year-old was surrendered to the shelter by his previous owner, and he deserves so much more than life in a kennel. Petey dreams of spending his golden years in a cozy, loving home where he can truly relax.

He’s an easygoing guy who doesn’t ask for much—just a comfy bed, a few treats, and people to love him. Can you give Petey the second chance he deserves?

Sweet Alec can be super shy at times, but other times he’s full of energy, jumping and playful. He’s such a good boy and seems to take direction really well. While walking on leash, he started to jump a bit, so I turned and walked the other way. When we returned to our original direction, he adjusted beautifully, walking in step with me, which was so nice to see. In the play lot, he had a little burst of zoomies but quickly settled down, wanting nothing more than to melt into you for some affection—that’s clearly what he enjoys the most. He loves treats and takes them so gently. He’s a silly, sweet puppy and can’t be more than a year old. He was also brave enough to give agility a try and seems to really enjoy it. Alex is available for adoption at Chicago Animal Care and Control. You can meet him any day between 12-6pm.

Gravity (A278593) is a truly exceptional boy who's ready for a fresh start. Adopted over the summer as a pup, he's now looking for a new forever home after his previous family was unable to keep him. Georgie was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control with some eye issues but that has been all cleared up and she’s ready to find her . Can’t come today? This is Remuloude, he was a great dog. He did agility and went to play group,, and he was available for adoption at Chicago Animal Care and Control but unfortunately the shelter runs out of space every single day because people are irresponsible. Over 10 stray dogs came in just yesterday morning (7/4) before the fireworks even started. And the shelter was already full. Many of them come in without collars and tags and aren’t chipped. It doesn’t cost much to get a collar and you can get a tag for $5-$10 at a pet store. Many shelters/rescues sponsor free chip and vaccination clinics. There is absolutely no excuse. These dogs shouldn’t even step foot in the shelter. They should be going straight home. Then pups like Remuloude would get to experience another day and the chance at having his own family. 🌈

Poor Bronwyn is back at Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was adopted last spring and her owner had to return her due to her own health issues. She is just as sweet as she was last year. Very playful, tried agility, and also loves the butt scratches. Please come meet her, she is spayed and ready to go home today.

Finally met Disney at Chicago Animal Care and Control today. She is a little Gremlin dog. So cute and dog friendly, she goes to playgroup, and gave agility a try today too. What a cutie. Come meet her! She is ready to find her forever home.

Come meet Safe Humane Chicago PALs pup Nina Beans at Templestowe Pub Chicago and have some fun playing Bingo. Sweet Nina Beans was adopted this summer and unfortunately her adopter, though she loved her very much, could not care for her while in college. Thankfully Nina Beans has been living with a trainer while she looks for a new . Come drink some beer, play some bingo, and go home with the most amazing pup ever. I am speaking from experience, she’s amazing.
