Taking care of your dog's teeth is an important part of their overall health. Severe dental disease can even have impacts on the rest of the body, especially the heart, liver, and kidneys. Starting out with brushing when they are young makes it easier but you can start any time! Even brushing a couple times a week can make a significant difference in the plaque and tartar build up. We have another staff member leaving for school and are in need of a full-time receptionist. We are looking for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, has great customer service skills, and preferably has previous veterinary and/or receptionist experience. Our clinic is very busy so being able to juggle multiple tasks and stay organized is a must. All of our files are paper files so the position does include lots of filing as well as answering phones, scheduling, loading appointments, filling prescriptions, checking patients out, cleaning, and more.
Benefits include paid vacation/holidays, a Simple IRA after 6 months, and an employee discount. Health insurance is not offered currently.

Cleaning your dog's ears regularly can help prevent ear infections, especially after playing in the water. As the weather is starting to get warmer and we start to get some more rain, it is easy for moisture to get down into the ear canals. Please use an ear cleaner specially labelled for dogs. Many are designed to help dry out the ear. Products like apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, etc., should not be put in to your dog's ears. Our favorite ear cleaner is Oti-Clens and you are always welcome to pick some up at the clinic. Here is a great video showing the best method to clean your dog's ears at home. Frequency often depends on the dog, but typically we recommend weekly for dogs that have had multiple ear infections. If you suspect that your dog may have an ear infection, do not attempt to clean them and call to schedule an appointment.
