🦃 Thanksgiving week is full of blessings — friends, family, and of course, amazing food!
But as we celebrate, it’s important to remember our furry family members and keep them safe around the holiday table. 💜🐾

Some Thanksgiving favorites can be shared in small amounts… but many others can be dangerous for pets.

🍽️ Foods to Avoid Giving Pets:❌ Ham❌ Chocolate❌ Garlic, Leeks & Onions❌ Grapes & Raisins❌ Mashed Potatoes (butter/seasonings)❌ Raw Dough❌ Stuffing❌ Pre-made desserts & pie filling

A little awareness goes a long way in keeping our pets healthy and happy this holiday season.

Wishing you and your four-legged loved ones a safe and joyful Thanksgiving! 🧡🦃🐶🐱

💛 Pet Cancer Awareness Month — Featuring Lola’s Story 💛
Meet Lola — a 12-year-old torti queen who rules the world…and honestly, the rest of us are just living in it. 😼👑

A little over a year ago, Lola’s family noticed some subtle but important changes — weight loss, decreased energy and appetite, and a dull coat. Bloodwork came back normal, but her abdominal ultrasound showed concerning changes in her intestines.

To get answers, she underwent an exploratory surgery for biopsies, and in September 2024, Lola was diagnosed with gastrointestinal lymphoma.

Thanks to her attentive family, early detection, and a dedicated oncology team, Lola began treatment right away — a combination of steroids and chlorambucil chemotherapy tablets.
She is currently under the wonderful care of Arizona Veterinary Oncology in Gilbert, where she sees Dr. Beaver for labs every three months. 💛
And the best part?✨ Lola is Thriving.
She’s happier, brighter, and has gained nearly 3 pounds back! Her spark is strong, her sass is back, and she continues to rule her home with love, attitude, and (of course) a touch of tortitude.

Lola’s story is a reminder that: 💛 Early detection saves lives💛 Subtle changes matter 💛 Treatment is possible — and many pets continue to live full, happy lives 💛 You know your pet best — trust your gut when something feels “off”

This month, we honor all the fighters, the survivors, and the families who walk this journey with their pets.
Give your furry loved ones some extra love today. 💜🐾

🐾National FIP Awareness, Research & Education Day 💜

Today we bring attention to a disease that has touched the hearts of many cat families — Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

For years, FIP was considered untreatable… but thanks to ongoing research, awareness, and dedicated advocates, there is now hope. Many cats diagnosed today can go on to live full, happy, healthy lives with proper treatment and monitoring.

💜 At Amethyst Veterinary Clinic, we believe in education, early detection, and supporting our feline families every step of the way.

If you ever have concerns about your cat’s health — especially symptoms like persistent fever, weight loss, lethargy, fluid buildup, or sudden behavior changes — please reach out. Early veterinary care makes all the difference.

Today, we honor:✨ The cats fighting FIP✨ The cats who survived✨ The families who have loved and lost✨ The researchers and veterinary professionals working tirelessly toward better treatments and, one day, a cure.

💜 Happy World Animal Enrichment Day! 💜
Today we’re celebrating all the ways we can make our pets’ lives richer, happier, and more exciting — both mentally and physically!

Enrichment is all about giving pets the chance to think, play, explore, and be themselves. 🧠🐶🐱Whether it’s a new toy, a snuffle mat, a puzzle feeder, or a game of hide-and-seek — enrichment keeps tails wagging and whiskers twitching.

✨ Try one of these today:🐾 Stuff a Kong or lick mat for some tasty problem-solving🐾 Hide treats around the house for a sniffing adventure🐾 Rotate toys to keep things interesting🐾 Add a cardboard box or paper bag for your cat to explore

Let’s make every day a little more enriching for our furry family! 💜📸 We’d love to see your pets enjoying their favorite enrichment activity — share your photos in the comments!

🐾 It’s Human‑Animal Relationship Awareness Week — a time to honor how much our pets enrich our lives and how much we can give back.

This week we’re celebrating the extraordinary bond between you and your animal companions.

“Did you know: spending even 15-30 minutes of focused, stress-free time with your pet can strengthen your bond and improve well-being—for both of you?

At Amethyst Veterinary Clinic, we’re grateful to be part of your journey. Share a photo of your pet in the comments and tell us what your bond means to you!

💚🐾 National Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day 💚🐾

Today we support the dogs with canine lymphoma — one of the most common cancers in our canines, but also one where early detection and treatment can make a huge difference.

Lymphoma can affect dogs of any breed or age, but it’s often treatable with prompt care and veterinary guidance.

✨ Know the signs:
* Unexplained swelling (especially around the neck or under the jaw)
* Fatigue or weakness
* Loss of appetite or weight loss
* Increased thirst or urination

If you notice any of these signs, don’t wait — schedule an exam.

💜Regular checkups and awareness save lives.
At Amethyst Veterinary Clinic, we believe knowledge is power — and love, compassion, and care make every moment count.
