Im an avid deer hunter of over 30yrs. Took up tracking while still in the service, and now spend my falls helping other hunters more than I hunt myself.

Always growing as a team, and gaining crucial knowledge to pass on. My dogs and I live to track!

Cash Boy put on a clinic this afternoon on a 22hr old gut shot in Southern Iowa.

It’s been pretty slow with only a few non fatal tracks lately. It was Cash’s turn today, and he hit the perfectly, tracking directly into the wind. After maybe 80 yds from the starting point, he threw his head up searching, wanting to head off course.

I informed the hunter that he’s caught wind of it and I might not get him to continue on the line. After 3 attempts of trying to force the line, I let him take lead and follow the nose.. 2 minutes later he was on it!

Know your dog, trust your dog! Shortcuts can sure save your time in the brush.

Red girl had a heck of a day! She went 2/2 with the first one being a live deer she kicked out of his first bed at 1.1 miles from shot site.

She made quick work of this one thanks to the hunter backing out at last blood and not grid searching.

Cash Boy!!

Story time..

Hunter shot this deer at 10 yds and was unsure what direction he went. While walking along the edge of standing corn back to the shot site, Cash kept stopping to smell the corn along the way. Weird, but he’s a weird dog so I didn’t think much of it.

Once we went to start the line he was acting crazy.. after getting him calmed down and letting him work, we had circled clear back to the path we walked in on and BOOM! blood on the corn, of course heading the opposite direction 🤦‍♂️

He snapped off into a creekside thicket, and there he laid at around 20hrs post shot.

Note to self…. Pay attention to even your weird dogs!

That Red dog!

Hunter shot this deer around noon on the 14th. He seen the deer take off with the arrow in it and knew it was high and back. Around the 31hr mark (day jobs suck this time of year). we hit the line and Red girl did her thing finding him in his first bed.

Congrats to the hunter on a dandy Iowa deer, and great job Red girl!

Cash boy was back up to bat this afternoon!

This boy continues to impress me! Hunter shot this deer first thing this morning quartered away and a little high and back. Not having a solid trail to follow, he backed out and we got the call.

9 minutes in and we were standing over him! (Probably quicker if it weren’t for all the briars!)

Cash boy was back at it today!

First, I have to say that this is absolutely the best part of tracking.. being able to help make these memories for the kiddos!!

This young lady decided to hunt the youth season with her compound bow instead of a r***e. Mom n dad are doing it right!

After shooting this deer yesterday, the rain had ruined any chance of a blood trail. They did perfect backing out and giving us a call. Upon reviewing the shot on camera, we decided to hold off until this morning.

Cash boy made quick work of this track, and created some big ole smiles! Congratulations to the young hunter on a great deer, and atta boy Cash!

Red put in some work today!
The deer we were after was shot Wednesday evening. Walking to the last known location, she gave us the solid snap and took the line in a .7 mile loop right to this guy.

Oddly enough, it apparently wasn’t the deer that was shot… 🤷‍♂️ she looked great, her line looked great, and she got a prize!

All deer go to water to die! (Tracker joke) 🤣

Cash boy is on the board here in MO helping fill a freezer with that tasty protein!

This definitely wasn’t the prettiest of tracks for this meathead, but there were some outside factors involved, and we still got it done!

Here it is, the ‘26/‘27 season is FINALLY upon us! We spent the off season training, helping/testing fellow tracking teams, and moving a little further south here in Iowa.

Triple M (aka the 3 meatheads and I) are now located near Centerville, but we will still be servicing all the same areas as before plus more availability further south.

Red girl will be running backup for the early season while Cash and Rocky earn their spots on the roster. I have high expectations of these kids!

I’m ready, the dogs are ready, and all of the Iowa Blood Trackers Teams are ready to get this party started! Feel free to call or text (please leave a message if I can’t answer) if you have any questions, or need help with your deer recovery.

Cash boy and I made a trip to Mid-Mo this morning where he earned his UBT-1. This boy has come quite a ways and overcame some obstacles along the way. That being said, his determination/grit on a line is so much fun to watch! Can’t wait to see what this coming season has in store for him!

PS, sometimes I think he wants to eat my face 🤣
