Catmandu is a cage-free non-profit cat sanctuary and rescue at 1829 Brown Street in Carson City, NV. bio.link/momcat

We believe this a better way to care for homeless cats; allowing them to roam freely and be in charge of their daily lives rather than locking them in a cage. Catmandu exists for the welfare and benefit of kitties and animal lovers in our community.

Update 2 of 2 Shadow and Lilah: Mom adopted these two girls after losing her 19 year old Meeko to cancer. As we all know, one cat can never replace another, but Mom is so grateful for the love, joy and peace that Shadow and Lilah give her.

Update on Blackie and Delilah, adopted July 2026 (part 1 of 2): Now named Shadow (she follows mom everywhere!) and Lilah, the girls are doing very well. Mom says they bring her so much joy and happiness, and she feels blessed to have them.

Update on Sammy and Chonk, part 3 of 3: Sammy is always ready to play, he loves talking and calling out. He enjoys antagonizing Chonk and starting the wrestling matches. Sammy joins me on the sink in the morning while I brush my teeth and gets all the pets while checking out the bathroom faucet. Both are great company and are doing so well.

Update on Chonk and Sammy, part 2 of 3: Dad says Chonk loves chasing shadows. And he has to be in my lap as much as possible, and will insist on being in front of me while I work at home. He tries to type by attacking the arrow keys on my keyboard.

Update on Sammy (orange) and King (black/gray), adopted July 2026 (part 1 of 3): Dad says they are both doing so well, and love playing. King has been renamed Chonk because "the dude is a certified chonker, lol"!

Update on Mufasa, just adopted: He is doing great and adjusting really well to his new family! He is still keeping the dog at arm’s length, but they both seem to have accepted that they will be sharing a home😊 . He started eating and using his litter box on the very first day, which was wonderful! So far, he is settling in beautifully, and we are so happy to have him as part of our family!

UPDATE ON VIVI'S KITTENS-
Charlotte is getting more beautiful by the day, she lets me pet her lots now, but still isn’t comfortable with quick moves and won’t let me pick her up yet. Chester has become an attention seeking purr factory, he is also developing a physique approximating Winnie the Pooh. 😆 He slept on my husband’s lap for an hour while we watched a movie last night.

We have the cutest faces around (if we do say so ourselves)!

Historically, the Nevada day and Halloween weekend is always super super slow at Catmandu. The number of potential adopters and visitors drops to pretty much nothing as everyone is busy with all the other activities going on.
We are going to take advantage of the lull to give the teeny tiny super hardworking office staff a little time off to rest and recharge.
Everything is fine and we will resume normal hours the following weekend.
The schedule is unchanged for cat staff and volunteers.
Thank you for your understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We hope you will visit us during our regular hours, resuming November 6th. We have some really fabulous cats that are waiting for their furever home.
