Cane Rosso Rescue 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and building awareness for homeless dogs

The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at shelters or whose owners who can no longer care for them. We are looking for fosters, adopters and volunteers who can help transport dogs to their homes. Donations are needed to pay for medical care and other expenses and can be made via PayPal at [email protected].

We’ve got a sick little girl who just became a Cane Rosso Rescue dog!

Charlotte is a 3 year old chocolate Lab who was scheduled for euthanasia today for being sick if someone didn’t step up.

🩷So….. here we are, stepping up!!!

She’s safe, she’s alive, and she’s in good hands — but this sweet girl isn’t feeling her best right now. She’s got what looks like an upper respiratory infection or possibly pneumonia. We’ll know more soon, and we’re committed to getting her the care she needs so she can heal and thrive.

If you’re so inclined, we could really use a little financial help covering her vet bills.

Life throws challenges at all of us, and sometimes even the most well-intentioned plans change. That’s where we come in. We have a puppy in need of a new home to avoid going to the over-crowded shelter.

A past Cane Rosso Rescue adopter reached out for some help and here’s what she asked:

“My friend’s mom kinda needs help… her adult daughter was involuntarily committed to a psych ward and had brought home this puppy prior. And the daughter doesn’t want the puppy now and the mom can’t keep her…can you guys help?”

✨ Meet Luna — the definition of a perfect companion dog. ✨

She’s gentle. She’s loving. She walks beautifully on leash. And her signature move? Reaching out her paw just to hold hands. 💛 Like, come on.

She adores kids. Loves people. Perfect patio and grab some drinks with friends type of dog. Not a fan of other dogs in a home. Fits into a house and life like she’s always belonged.

💔And yet… she’s still here.

We seriously don’t get it. Luna is everything people say they’re looking for — sweet, calm, friendly, family-ready. So why is she still waiting?

The truth is, we need to find her a home soon. The longer she sits, the harder it is for us to say yes to saving the next dog.

🚨 FOSTER NEEDED: Who wants to have some fun with a little baby Lab puppy?! 🐾

(Okay, two Lab puppies… but not in the same house — we’re not completely crazy.)

We’ve been asked to help two 9-week-old male chocolate Labrador pups who are dangerously close to being sent to the shelter. That’s not what we want for them, and honestly? That’s not what they deserve.

We’ve for 24 hours to make these puppies part of Cane Rosso Rescue.

They’re just babies — wiggly, silly, clumsy, and full of love. The kind of puppies who trip over their own ears, chew on your shoelaces, and melt your heart with one look. But without a foster home, their only option is a scary, cold shelter.

We need TWO foster homes — one for each little Labrador baby.

Short-term, long-term, whatever you can offer — we’ll take it (and so will they).

Sweet. Shy. Tree climber. Squirrel-patrol superstar. 💙

Finn is an absolute gem of a pup who’s looking for a loving forever home. He’s been in foster for about two weeks now and is loving the home life. He goes on walks, is able to be left alone unattended, does well with guest over and has enjoyed a trip to a lake house where he learned and explored and finally decided he liked the boat

Finn is the sweetest boy who can be a little shy when meeting new people — and that’s okay! Just like us, dogs need time to settle into a new place with new people.

Once he knows you’re his person, the real Finn shines through and he is AWESOME!

This sweet, loyal boy has been living at a board and train facility for months, working hard on his training and manners — but what he really needs is a home. 💔

Oreo has watched so many other dogs come and go while he remains overlooked. He’s a smart, affectionate pup who thrives with structure and routine, and we know he’ll flourish in the right home.

Oreo’s Backstory: A few months ago, Oreo found himself in a shelter in Kansas City, desperately needing a way out. He was scheduled for euthanasia, but Cane Rosso Rescue stepped in—we weren’t going to let that happen!

Looking for an awesome companion dog who LOVES kids and people?!? Meet Luna!

Luna walks well on leash, is so gentle and loving and just wants to be loved in return. Her signature move is to hold her paw out to hold hands!

Really, does it get any better than this?! She is a great dog and is now available with Cane Rosso Rescue to find her forever home!

Luna’s foster family had this to say about her:

“She is extremely sweet, seems really great with kids. Mine are little and sporadic and she does really well with them so far. She begs for pets and puts her paws on you for attention. Very calm dog so far, gentle giant. Would make a great companion since she’s so lovey and wants to be with you all the time”.

We’re not saying Rusty’s tired of seeing his own adoption posts more than we are—but seriously, can someone please adopt this guy so we can stop recycling the same sad story of how he is STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION?

💙Rusty is such a great dog and deserves to know love and a home of his own. There has to be someone out there for him, we just know it! 🙏 All it takes is one person or family to love him for who he is!

Rusty is an English Pointer through and through—built to run, explore, and keep a watchful eye on the world around him. He’s silly, funny and LOVES to run around with his toys! He is AWESOME!

He’s happiest with space to stretch his legs and a yard to patrol, where he can spend his days doing what he was born to do: watching birds, chasing squirrels, and being the loyal, intelligent dog he is. He is very content and happy exploring outside, loves the sun and is a very easy dog to care for and love.

Rusty has one requirement: he needs to be the only pet. And that’s the one thing keeping him from finding a home and still with us at Cane Rosso Rescue.

He’s been waiting patiently for someone to see him—the incredible dog that he is. Rusty deserves a family. He deserves a home. He deserves a chance.

Clementine came to Cane Rosso Rescue as a pregnant mom that we saved from the shelter. She was in need and we had no idea she was pregnant at the time…. What a surprise!

Fast forward…. She’s still waiting for a home to call her own. She gave birth, raised her amazing babies with love, and watched as each one found a home of their own.

💔But, as is all too common, Clementine is still waiting. The puppies always go first, while the devoted mama is last to be chosen.

Clementine is sweet, loving, and so deserving of a family of her own. Let’s change her story—help us find this incredible girl the home she’s been waiting for!

🙏Foster home needed for Braden!

Braden needs a foster home or he’s going to the shelter. We would love to help him and find him a new home, but we need a foster home to say YES to helping him!

Braden was found hiding in some bushes, too scared to move. A Good Samaritan spotted him and slowly earned his trust. He had no microchip, no collar, and no one was looking for him, despite all their efforts. Another unwanted, dumped puppy out in the world. 🥲

The finders can’t keep him, but they’re doing everything they can to keep him out of a loud, crowded shelter—because for a shy and sensitive dog like Braden, that kind of environment would be devastating and overwhelming.

Braden is still learning his new people, but he’s been so sweet and gentle and wants to feel safe. What he needs most right now is a quiet, patient foster or adopter to help him settle and learn the work can be an ok place.

He’s the sweetest boy, but can be a little shy when meeting new people — and that’s okay! Just like us, dogs need time to settle into a new place with new people.
