Operation Kindness Humane Society aims to keep pets with their families.
Since opening over eight years ago, our Pet Food Pantry has recently hit a new major milestone — serving over 5,000 pets in both October and November 2025!

The holiday season can be a challenging time for families, and we want to ensure that feeding your pet is one less thing to worry about. Operation Kindness Humane Society embodies kindness not only during the holiday season but also throughout the year. We are thrilled to have helped so many furry families and look forward to expanding our reach in 2026.

Our Pet Food Pantry is always accepting new applications. The process of applying and receiving assistance is easy. Simply visit our website here: https://www.operationkindness.org/pantry-application/ and fill out the application. We will provide food for up to six months for up to 3 pets per household, at which time reapplication may be required.

2025 was an incredible year for us! We went out into the community, held wellness clinics and pet food pantries, hosted countless adoption events, and transported animals from all over to our shelter and shelter partners. We renovated our cat rooms to make them more efficient and spacious. Raised record-breaking goals to help save more lives.

This is just a small glimpse into all we accomplished this year and it couldn’t have been done without compassionate supporters like you! ✨❤️

As we wrap up the year, we're celebrating everything that you've made possible for animals in 2025. Supporters like you have provided hope and healing to little Creeque Alley and thousands of other pets like her.

Creeque Alley came to our shelter as a baby. She needed medication, a spay/neuter surgery and vaccines from our Rees-Jones Foundation Medical Wing, and most importantly a safe and loving foster home to grow her big and strong to be ready for adoption. Thanks to you, we were able to provide her with everything he needed and Creeque spent her first Holiday season in her loving home!

Meet Dru, a big, happy puppy with a heart just as large as his head and just as easy to love.♥️

Dru is full of joyful energy and sweet curiosity, always ready for a tasty snack or his next adventure. He walks nicely on a leash, making him a perfect partner for neighborhood strolls or park days, and his gentle, easygoing temperament brings smiles everywhere he goes.

Once Dru feels comfortable, his playful and goofy personality shines ✨ Expect silly antics, happy wiggles, and lots of affection from this lovable boy. He’s the kind of pup who quickly turns ordinary moments into laugh-out-loud ones.

He is a 10-month-old male mixed breed, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations & preventions. He is eligible for a 3-day trial adoption through our Foster First program. This program gives you and our pets time to ensure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.

We are so excited to be able to find foster homes for 50 of our cats and dogs during this holiday season! ⭐️

The holidays are about spending more time as a family, and fostering a shelter pet is a great way to build that bond while helping an animal that is still searching for a family to call their own.
Fostering is also a great way to help our pets become socialized, provide a break from the shelter, and let future adopters learn more about their personality. Not only do you get to spend time with a new furry friend, but by signing up to foster, you are helping to make room in our shelters for more pets needing aid. Any supplies that you may need when fostering, including pet food, treats, litter, and blankets, will be provided with full support from our foster team!

We have so many incredible animals to choose from! Our pets can't wait to be cozied up with you under a snuggly blanket this season. ❤️

Our Story

Operation Kindness is the leading no-kill animal shelter in North Texas.

Since our founding in 1976, Operation Kindness has saved more than 105,000 homeless animals. We take pride in our ability to treat and rehabilitate the dogs and cats in our care and give them the opportunity to experience a great quality of life. North Texas daily faces the challenge of how to tackle the homeless pet population issue. Operation Kindness serves as a partner for 47 municipal shelters and rescue groups who have animals in need of lifesaving medical care, or are simply low on space. When we work together, we can truly make a difference for homeless pets in North Texas.
