We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Indiana-based, feline rescue group. We always have many available cats up for adoption.

We are mostly foster-based, but we have some kitties staying in Carmel at Petco and at Pawz Pet Cafe, and in Kokomo at Pet Supplies Plus! ***ALL AVAILABLE CATS***

Our cats are all spayed/neutered, m

icrochipped, up-to-date on their FVRCP (distemper) vaccines, and given general de-wormer. Most of our cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and rabies shots are given to most cats over 3 months old. Since we are a foster-based rescue, most of them are with a foster but there are always many the Carmel Petco Adoption Room (off 116th & Keystone) AND at Pawz Pet Cafe. For the foster cats, meetings can be arranged to meet the kitty of your dreams!

***We also bring in new groups of cats and kittens to Petco most Saturdays!!!!*** Come meet our furry friends, wonderful volunteers, and head Cat Rescue Lady, Martha Strong.

We work in Hamilton, Marion, and Delaware Counties, and many places in between. We do NOT support or allow declawing of our cats. We often have cats that come to us already declawed and can consider placing them in a family that prefers a declaw. Declawing often leads to behavior issues such as aggression and improper litter box habits, as well as stress on the cats’ feet and legs. We offer free nail trims for our adoptees at the Carmel Petco most Saturday afternoons. Our rescue's cats and kittens have led a mostly difficult life, so we require them to be indoor cats. We have some beautiful Siamese mixed kittens that will be at Petco today. We have flame point and Lynx point Siamese that are absolutely gorgeous. If you are looking to expand your family, these may be a great choice

Maria needs a forever home!

“How do you solve a problem like Maria?”-You take her into your home and love her forever. Maria’s young life has already been full of tragedy. However she has bravely defied the odds by surviving in a cruel world. Maria came to Paws on My Heart homeless and pregnant. She gave birth to six beautiful boys. Maria loved her babies and selflessly cared for them. She became critically ill and nearly died. Thankfully with the help of a kind vet she survived and slowly recovered. Maria has been convalescing with her foster mom who adores her. She has put on weight and looks so healthy and beautiful. She is learning how to fit in with a family easily. She loves to be loved. She enjoys sitting on anyone’s lap and being snuggled. Maria is quite comfortable around her foster Golden Retriever sister after learning to trust. Maria does not get along with other cats and needs to be your only cat. Maria is finally feeling up to learning how to play! She enjoys chasing crinkle balls! Looking out the window is also a favorite of hers when she’s not curled up in a lap!

Update- Adopted!!!!

Matcha is a sweet Polydactyl and her feet are as big as her heart! 🐾 ❤️

She needs an adopter but would settle for a temporary foster. She raised five beautiful kittens that found homes weeks ago but Matcha has been overlooked. She is losing hope.

Matcha is just over a year old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, FIV/Felv negative and on flea prevention.

Would you be able to foster a handsome guy for about a week? We have the need to find a foster for Kitler for a short time. He is a Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes. He will be in Carmel tomorrow at noon and would be available for you to take him home and let him chill in a room until we can place him at Petco. Would that be a possibility? This purrfect boy needs another chance…..

So here is Cheeto! Adopted and then 2 days later returned. He just didn’t get a fair chance to adjust and for the other kitty to adjust to him. Cheeto is calm, cool, and collected. He gets along with gentle dogs and other cats. His foster can’t imagine a sweeter guy. Please find a place for him with the love he deserves.

Foster Found!!

This sweet orange family needs a foster. Friendly mama and 6 orange kittens need a foster for a short time for spay/neuter and vaccines. Then they will become available for adoption. Mama’s name is Potato!! Their human family has taken in a sick family member so kitties need to move out. With your help, Paws on my Heart Rescue can take them in. Transfer could be in two days.
