When we bought Deaghan, we were told he was a Percheron cross. We were never completely convinced, and even thought there might be some Friesian in him. We finally broke down and got him DNA tested through Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences Animal Genetics Lab. Not a drop of Percheron or Friesian. The big beautiful beast is Arabian, Turkoman, and Lipizzaner. I'm thinking that because the pure Turkoman breed itself is considered extremely rare or even extinct, he may be pulling that marker from its closest descendant the Akhal-Teke.

Regardless, we think he's a super handsome boy. But somebody really should tell the goofy clod that he's supposed to graceful and elegant in his sturdy endurance! LOL

Happy National Unicorn Day!!!

Oh!, how we wish this day were later in the year. Every year, we hope to have a unicorn celebration here at the farm, and every year, Old Man Winter reappears to strike his icy hand across the land. Oh, well. We're sending out warm and happy unicorn magic (OMW cant steal that!) to all of our friends and family.
