🌟 Instructor Spotlight: Cassie 🌟

Cassie has been involved with horses her entire life, beginning her journey in 4-H and continuing to compete through the years in a variety of disciplines. Alongside her horse, Thunder—the heart and soul of our lesson program—she has done it all, from jumping, trail riding, gaming classes, showmanship and Western events to English disciplines and dressage. Together, they have competed successfully at local shows and prestigious Class A Morgan shows, earning numerous championships, awards, and Horse of the Year honors. Thunder was even featured in the Morgan Horse magazine!

Cassie is passionate about helping riders of all ages and experience levels grow their confidence and skills. Whether working with a first-time rider or helping a more advanced student reach the next level, her lessons are fun, interactive, and focused on developing well-rounded horsemen and horsewomen. From grooming and horse care to riding and horsemanship, Cassie believes in teaching students from the ground up.

Her patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm make her a favorite among our riders, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our program! 🐴❤️

What do kids learn in our lesson program?

A lot more than just riding a horse.

Our students learn how to groom, lead, tack up, carry equipment, care for their horse, and understand the responsibilities that come with being around these amazing animals. Riding is only one piece of the puzzle.

By learning horsemanship both in and out of the saddle, our students develop confidence, responsibility, patience, and respect—skills that extend far beyond the barn.

We’re proud to help create well-rounded horsemen and horsewomen, one lesson at a time. ❤️🐴

Such a fun weekend at the barn! 🐴✨

This weekend’s lesson theme was “Ride With Your Instructor,” and our riders had an absolute blast learning side-by-side with their instructor. It’s so important for students to not only hear instruction, but to visually see and ride along as well.

We loved getting to share the arena with some of our long-standing students this weekend — lots of laughs, learning, and great rides all around! ❤️

Softness ✨

Not pulling a horse’s head down…
but a horse that chooses to stay soft—light in your hand, relaxed in their body, and responsive to quiet cues (even one hand).

It matters because a soft horse is safer, more willing, and easier to communicate with.

And it’s not created by force—
it’s built through feel, timing, and consistency.
