🌸 Spring Shedding is Here! 🐾

As the weather warms up, many of our furry friends start shedding their winter coats — it’s totally natural! ☀️ Dogs and cats grow thicker fur in the colder months, and come spring, their bodies shed that excess to stay cool.

What you can do at home:
🧼 Brush regularly to help control loose fur
🛁 Bathe with a deshedding shampoo
🍽️ Keep them on a healthy, balanced diet
🐶 Ask us about supplements for coat health!

If you’re overwhelmed by the hair storm, we’re happy to recommend products or grooming tips specific to your pet’s needs. Let’s keep those coats shiny and your home a little less furry! 🐕🐈

📅 National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day
🐾 Be Ready. Keep Them Safe. 🐾

Emergencies can happen anytime—wildfires, floods, storms, or evacuations. On this National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day, we’re reminding pet parents to have a plan in place for your four-legged family members too! 🐶🐱🐾

Here are a few ways to be prepared:

✅ Create a pet emergency kit (food, water, medications, leashes, carrier, and ID)
✅ Have copies of medical records and a photo of your pet in case you get separated
✅ Make sure your pet's microchip info and ID tags are up to date
✅ Know your evacuation routes and pet-friendly shelters in the area
✅ Practice loading your pet into a carrier or car quickly in case of a fast evacuation

Your pets rely on YOU—make sure they’re part of your emergency plan.

Tick Season Reminder! 🏔️

One of our veterinary technicians recently saved a tick she removed from her pet and placed it in a sealed bag to show just how many eggs a single female tick can lay. It’s pretty shocking—and a powerful reminder of how important year-round parasite prevention is for your pets!

If you have questions about the best parasite prevention for your pet, give us a call—we’re happy to help keep your furry family safe!

🌷 Spring Cleaning with Pets – Tips for a Safe and Healthy Home! 🐾

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to freshen up your home! 🧹✨ But when you’re cleaning with pets around, it’s important to use pet-safe products and take extra precautions to keep them safe. Here are some helpful tips:

✅ Use Pet-Safe Cleaning Products – Look for non-toxic, natural cleaners or make your own using simple ingredients like vinegar and baking soda. Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia, and certain essential oils, which can be harmful to pets.

✅ Keep Cleaning Supplies Out of Reach – Store all cleaning products in cabinets or high shelves that your pet can’t access. Make sure to close containers tightly.

✅ Ventilate the Area – After cleaning, make sure the room is well-ventilated to avoid inhalation of any fumes from cleaners.

✅ Focus on Pet Areas – Clean your pet’s bedding, toys, and favorite spots with safe products to keep them fresh and germ-free! Wash their blankets and toys regularly to prevent bacteria and pests.

✅ Beware of Toxic Houseplants – Some common plants, like lilies, azaleas, and ivy, can be toxic to pets. Be sure to keep plants out of your pet’s reach or avoid them altogether.

🧽 Your pets deserve a fresh, clean home too – safely! If you have any questions about pet-safe cleaning or need advice on toxic substances to avoid, reach out to us.

🌸 Spring Parasite Prevention for Pets! 🌸

As the weather warms up, it's time to protect your pets from fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes—parasites that thrive in the spring and summer months. 🐾🐞 These pests can cause serious health problems, including skin infections, allergies, and even life-threatening diseases.

Here’s how to keep your pets safe:

✅ Fleas – These tiny pests can cause itching, infections, and tapeworms. Regular flea preventatives are key to keeping them at bay.

✅ Ticks – Ticks can transmit dangerous diseases like Lyme disease. Keep your pet protected with tick prevention and check them after every outdoor adventure.

✅ Mosquitoes – Mosquitoes can carry heartworm disease, which is fatal if left untreated. Prevent heartworms with regular monthly preventatives.

🌿 Take action NOW to ensure your pet is protected! Reach out to us for the best options in flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

📞 Call us today to schedule an appointment and get your pet on a safe and effective parasite prevention plan.
