All is quiet now, but last Friday (11/30/2026), the World Museum of Mining was packed at Treat Street! We participated again this year handing out candy, but also giving small packages of cat and dog treats to trick-or-treaters who had pets at home. Many were surprised and happy that their pets were included in the event. Treats were donated by Thrive- on Amherst Avenue here in Butte. Happy Halloween. We guess we were so busy that we forgot to take pictures. An estimate of attendees was a steady stream of 1,000 little goblins.

11/01/2026 = Some updated pictures of our still adoptable kitties. All are still pretty shy but not mean.

October 29, 2026 National Cat Day! Butte Spay/Neuter has gotten several calls recently about cats and kittens in situations where they have been breeding, and the cat numbers are growing and growing. We are not Animal Control, we are Spay/Neuter, but we are glad to help this beautiful kitties find homes. No one leaves our building or foster care without being vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. We continue to get requests for help. BSNTF continues also to try to fit as many cats and dogs into our clinics, veterinarians, or to help with $50-off certificates. May this National Cat Day be the turn in the tide of cats coming into our program for help. This is just a sampling of some of the kitties available for adoption.

AniMeals, the no-kill adoption center and food bank in Missoula, is soon moving to a new home. They need your help, whether that's in fundraising efforts, or volunteering.

10/20/2026 Here are a few photos of our recent "Walkerville kitties", that are looking for homes as "working cats". Most are pretty scared and not especially socialized. They are healthy, well fed, and now are vaccinated, and spayed or neutered (as of 10/19/2026 at a mini-clinic). We have a total of 20 ready to start a new life in a barn, shop or other cozy abode. Goulash, our big beautiful boy is actually a very nice (and vocal) guy. Our adoption application is on our website www.buttespayneutertaskforce.org, or you can request one via our page.

10/13/2026 - Aren't these three just the most adorable kittens ever? And after our clinic today, they are set for a lifetime with no worries. We love 'fixing' an entire litter. And preferably, the mom and dad too. Today we spayed 14 female cats and 23 male cats.

This is Cheddar. Only one eye works, but 'that don't bother him none'. We are looking for a special, inside only home for Cheddar.

09/24/2026 We would like to announce that we have finished trapping and taking care of the almost 50 abandoned cats and kittens from the trailer at Crackerville MT! Well.... we would like to, BUT.... For the past 5 days we have visited the site and no more cats were there. None in our trap, No sightings on the property. That's great. And today we spayed 10 female and five male cats and kittens, most from our Crackerville project and also cats at Remember to Rescue here in Butte. Monday we fixed seven more. NOW we must continue to find homes for these lovelies. All are in foster care. Some are perfect for life long household lap cat companions, and some, less socialized, are more suited as working cats - fed, vetted and protected for their lifetimes in return for keeping rodents at bay. And as you can see, it will take weeks for some to be old enough to be vaccinated, spayed/neutered then adopted. Our adoptables will be posted on petfinder.com. Please be patient! We are not animal control. This is a special project we took on. We don't have a facility where we can keep the cats, and we are just a small group of volunteers, fosters, donors, and old people! And dammit, we're tired.
