06/19/2025: Thursday.. our group accomplished 28 neuters and 19 spays today for a total of 47 cats altered. Some kitties were from local shelters and rescue groups and others were from private homes. Wherever they came from, we are happy to have made a difference in their lives.

Phyllis, Jacki and I (Judy) took some garage sale stuff to the Community Yard Sale on the corner of Excelsior and Platinum yesterday. The Mining City Mudd Coffee shop sponsored it. It went from 9 to 4. We made $500!!!!!!

Thank you Jacki and Phyllis for sitting with me all day. Thank you Carmen for coming and helping set up & thank you to Jacki's Dan for helping set up and tear down.

Thank you Barb G. for donating some wonderful items that made this $500 happen. You have always supported us and always "got it" that spay and neuter is our only way out of this pet overpopulation mess. We have a couple of nice items that did not sell, we will post them on marketplace and see what happens.

It was good to hear folks come up and say, "thank you for what you guys are doing". Some gave a donation, small, but that is OK - it all adds up. We had a few folks that are going to take $50-off certificates to help get their animal fixed. Only one wanted to be put on the waiting list. That was a good thing!!

Again, thank you everyone for helping with this event.

Folks from Butte Spay/Neuter will be here Saturday, May 3rd from 9 to 4 selling a wide variety of great (did I say 'great!'?) stuff. At Platinum and Excelsior Streets.

Ah, today, a lovely Tuesday April 22, 2025, we spayed 16 female cats and 11 male cats with one stray female already spayed and one male already neutered. Happy Earth Day! This kitty already had a little green line tattoo on her tummy put there when she was previously spayed. A great mark saving a whole lot of time and trauma on the kitty. We put a little green tattoo on every female cat we spay. If they are ever lost or abandoned, a clinic will know that they are already spayed. Males are much easier to tell if they have been neutered so we don't tattoo them!

04/10/2025: Today we spayed 18 female cats and neutered 15 male cats. Mr. P***y, here, was neutered today and is currently adoptable from Pintler Pets. He arrived so tightly matted that was given a lion cut yesterday by Heidi (of "Heidi Loves Animals" pet grooming) and today he was giving head butts and making biscuits.

03/15/2025: Yep. Another great day of 'fixing' cats at our clinic. We neutered 14 male cats and 17 female cats. We definitely do it "for the animals" but also help our community have healthier households in general. Our cat clients come from rescues, or perhaps from a previous litter (mom too), strays, shelter cats and fosters, from Facebook and from friends. We give vaccines for the cats we fix, and do minor treatments for conditions like ear mites or removing matted fur.

Our building is small and we are supported by private donations and a few grants, so at this point we only fix cats. We do help folks with dogs and cats by providing $50-off certificates, redeemable at veterinarian offices, funded by the Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force license plates, for low- to moderate-income folks. At our clinic, we help not only Butte animals but also from several of the surrounding small towns. As we always say, at the end of the day, "we hope we made a difference".

02/22/2025: Saturday. A beautiful day in Butte inside and outside. We spayed 13 female cats and neutered 18 male cats. We even had two female that had already been previously spayed! That's OK! We must be making a dent in the cat population.

February 08, 2025 Today's total of cats - 15 female spayed and 17 males neutered. We were surprised to see that two females had our signature green tattoo line on their tummies. This means they were already spayed at a previous clinic. It saves time in trying to figure if they are spayed or not. It's not a work of great tattoo art but it does the job!

This week we learned of the passing of our friend, Pat (Scown) Gleason. Pat was very active in our group and in many other animal causes. Pat was always a positive force organizing and attending events, including St. Francis of Assisi Blessing of the Animals, dog transports, spay/neuter clinics, and fundraisers. She also did her part by adopting and giving a wonderful home to many pets over the years. She had a sweet smile and a mischievous twinkle in her eyes that brightened everyone's day. We love you Pat!
