☀️🚗 Summer is almost here, and this is your annual reminder: NEVER leave children or pets in a parked vehicle. Not "just for a minute." Not with the windows cracked. Not even on a mild day.
A parked car can become deadly shockingly fast. The temperature inside can rise around 20°F in just 10 minutes, even when it doesn't feel that hot outside.
Every year, dozens of children die from heatstroke after being left in vehicles, and countless pets suffer the same heartbreaking fate. These tragedies are preventable.
Before you lock your car:
🔥 Check the back seat.
🔥 Put your purse, phone, or work badge beside your child or pet as a reminder.
🔥 Lock your vehicle when parked so curious little ones can't climb inside.
🔥 If you see a child or animal alone in a hot car, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. Minutes matter.
Our babies trust us with their whole hearts. Let's make sure they all make it home safely this summer.
Keep them hydrated. Protect those paws from hot pavement. And when you get out of the car, make sure every precious little passenger comes inside with us.

As a bisexual woman, this month is personal to me.
Wags N' Purrs has always been a place built on kindness, compassion, and the belief that every family deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. That includes our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors, customers, and fellow pet parents.
Love is love. Identity is valid. People deserve to exist safely and authentically without fear, hatred, or discrimination.
Bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, and hate have no home here. If that makes someone uncomfortable, this probably isn't the page for them.
This month, and every month, we celebrate love, authenticity, and the beautiful diversity that makes our communities stronger.

Pitty bulls get one of the stupidest, most unfair reputations in the dog world and I’m tired of pretending otherwise. 🐾
Dogs are not born hateful villains. Aggression and violence are usually the result of abuse, neglect, fear, lack of training, forced fighting, isolation, or humans literally teaching them to be aggressive. A loving, socialized, well-cared-for pit bull is usually just a giant block-headed baby who thinks they belong in your lap.
And the statistics people LOVE to scream about? A lot of them are deeply flawed.
According to the American Temperament Test Society, American Pit Bull Terriers passed temperament testing at about 87.6%, scoring higher than many breeds people consider “family dogs.”
Studies have also found that dogs labeled as “pit bulls” are frequently misidentified. One University of Florida study found around 60% of dogs visually identified as pit bull-type dogs didn’t even have pit bull DNA.
The ASPCA and AVMA have both spoken against breed-specific legislation because breed alone is a poor predictor of dangerous behavior.
You know what is a predictor of dangerous behavior? Abuse. Neglect. Backyard breeding. Chaining dogs outside. Using animals as status symbols or weapons. Humans failing them.
Any dog can bite. Any dog can become reactive if traumatized, terrified, unsocialized, or trained to attack.
Meanwhile, thousands of pitties are cuddling toddlers, wearing pajamas, snoring like the ultimate freeloaders, melting our hearts with those sweet, innocent grins.
Stop judging dogs by headlines and fearmongering. Judge owners by how they raise and treat their animals.
Pitty bulls deserve love, safety, training, patience, and a chance.

Today, we remember the ones who never made it home. 🇺🇸🐾
But we also remember the ones who did.
The ones who came home carrying nightmares heavier than their packs. The ones abandoned by the systems that promised to care for them. The ones fighting battles long after the uniforms came off. The ones who smiled through the pain until they simply couldn’t anymore.
Those veterans matter too.
Memorial Day is about sacrifice, and some sacrifices happen slowly, quietly, years after combat ends.
Today, I’m thinking of my late ex boyfriend, and every veteran who lost their life not on the battlefield, but to the invisible wounds left behind by it. PTSD. Addiction. Depression. Isolation. Pain nobody else could see.
They deserved help. They deserved peace. They deserved better.
So today, we honor all who gave pieces of themselves in service to this country, whether they died overseas, at home, or somewhere in between. Their stories matter. Their names matter. Their lives mattered.
Please check on your veterans. Listen without judgment. And remember that surviving war does not always mean escaping it.
May the fallen rest gently, and may the hurting know they are not forgotten.

As temperatures start climbing, please remember our wagging babies are barefoot all the time 🐾☀️
Before walks, place the BACK of your hand on the pavement for 5–7 seconds.
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
Hot pavement can cause painful burns faster than most people realize, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Early mornings, evenings, grassy paths, and shady routes are much kinder for little toe beans 💛
And yes, they make the CUTEST little doggy crocs and booties now 😭 Tiny summer shoes for tiny summer strolls. Fashion and safety? Perfection.
Stay hydrated, take breaks, and give your babies extra care during the heat wave season 🌿

In honor of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, we want to make one thing very clear:
Love is love. Trans people deserve safety and respect. Q***r people deserve joy. People deserve to exist without fear for simply being themselves.
