We had a GREAT weekend at the Patterns With Marilyn clinic. We can't thank Marilyn Randall enough for her expert instruction from the view of an AQHA International judge.

In just under 2 weeks, Marilyn Randall will be at KHC to help us all with Showmanship, Horsemanship and Trail patterns - from the judge's perspective. If you aren't one of the 8 riders, you have the advantage of seeing what the judge sees as she comments on the riders in the arena. This is one of the best clinicians to audit, as you will learn much! Auditing is $25/day (bring your own chair), and remember: ALL PROCEEDS GO TO BUTTE SPECIAL RIDERS!

ADOPTED TOGETHER!

It's hard to witness the grief a person has when they have to surrender a dog. Today was one of those days when it was really tough.
An elderly man came in today to see if he could bring his two dogs in because he was going to a nursing home. When we asked how soon did he need to bring them in, he answered today would be best. He drove back and brought his two dogs with him.
He was sobbing, couldn't speak and just stood there. We guided him to a chair so he could fill out the surrender form but when we came back, his head was bowed over the form with only his name and address filled out. We asked a few questions to add to the form but he could barely speak. He just couldn't talk and we knew it was too hard for him so we left it at that.
We promised to find great homes for his dogs and the last thing he whispered was, "I can't even take care of myself and I can't care for them". Our hearts broke.
