Today, on National Tequila Day, our partners at Pet Poison Helpline are sharing a real case with a timely connection. Kiki, a dog who bit into a backyard agave plant (the same plant used to make tequila), ended up needing medical care after exposure.

Agave may seem harmless, but it can cause irritation, vomiting, and more. Thankfully, Kiki made a full recovery — but her case is a good reminder to keep a close eye on what pets have access to.
